I respect far more SEC football programs now than in years past

Miss St, Ole Miss, Aub, Ala, Kentucky, Fla, Tenn, SC, Missouri, and Ga have all been fine representatives of the SEC, not sure I could have included so many before. Though Vandy was not included, you can take solace in knowing you are a far distance from the last place occupant, Texas A&M and Jimbo Fisher.

I am enjoying this season more than usual because it seems like the playing field has been leveled somewhat. A lot more competitive games.

I can’t help but think it’s no coincidence that this happened so soon after transferring was made easier. In the past teams could bench former four star recruits and have elite depth, but now those players transfer elsewhere.

Excellent observation! It’s made college football more enjoyable, even though I hated the transfer portal at first.

A&M came into the Bama game last year having lost to Arkie and State. Just sayin...

I think that’s part of it but mostly State, Ole Miss, Arky, and Kentucky have much better coaches now than they’ve had in the past.

A&M could still prove me wrong, but it would be at Bama’s expense.

I did not know that. Wow. Vandy?

A&M had a least a little offense last season. Bama is gonna be to much this round.

Translation: since A&M joined the SEC, your hatred for us burns so hot that you just can't bring yourself to hate anyone else in the conference like you used to.

Kentucky, Ole Miss and Tennessee are clearly 3 teams on the rise with good investments into their programs.
Auburn will just keep firing until they get someone.
A&M is like a parody of itself. All that money on the QB coach and all rush money on the fancy class and they can't score at all, qb play is dogshit snd they're losing to App State at home lol amazing

What short memories we have. LSU, the barners, and of course BAMA have ruled the West in the last decade and a half.
Sam Pittman isn't anywhere close to Bobby Petrino during his tenure or his results in Fayetteville. Huge Freeze was getting it done until his come to Jesus moment with the NCAA. Les Miles had LSU scary good for over a decade. The barn was rolling with Tuberville and the Chizik/Gus Bus era was able to hold its own nationally from time to time. And laugh all you want at Dan Mullens, but he had Miss State ranked #1 in the land in 2014. And Mike Leach doesn't seem like he's anywhere close to making that happen.
My point is, ALL this was happening at the same time, in the same decade and a half, in the wild, wild, West. Parity isn't when everyone is stinking up the place, it's when teams are taking turns rising to the top.

A&M did not earn that hatred by their play on the football field that’s for sure

No it’s not, far more quality coaching in the West, more teams have beaten Bama from the West. It’s not that Bama is down, the West is up.
