[quote]I still believe that we will be much more than your Buster Douglas. No disrespect, but I have not seen a team push you around the way we did the first half in a very long time.....if ever during the Saban era.

Good observation. I thought UGA won the first half on both sides of the ball, and especially in the trenches. You don't usually see that when Bama plays. I fully expect UGA to be around every year, and also expect them to win their fair share...but that will have to wait until 2019.

Because had we gone down 35-14 or even 31-14, I feel as if the floodgates might have opened.

I felt if we could score a TD at that point, the games ours. When we were stopped and lined up for the FG, I thought we would be up by 17 and it would be very, very hard for Alabama to come back. And Blankenship was money from that distance. When he missed the FG, I started having flashbacks from last year.

How many different times and ways can you say deja vu all over again?

Very spot on assessment.

The missed FG was the beginning of my anxiety Blankenship is usually money.........

The fake field goal is one if not the dumbest thing I've ever seen in a football game. However, after having a few days to mourn and look back at things objectively I reached a conclusion.

One of the big critiques of Smart during the Natty game is that he and Chaney played not to lose. I'm not sure how much if any of the criticism influenced his decision on the punt fake. But it was an aggressive move to try to win the game. You live and you die by your decisions and this one killed us. I keep telling myself he is 42 years old he is going to make mistakes. I keep telling myself we were lucky to be in the game to begin with because we were so young and replacing some really big guns off of last year's team. I guess hope springs eternal.

Without the missed FG there would be no fake punt.

But then there is no guarantee that BAMA doesn't drive for a score from the 20 to end the game instead of from midfield.

Any other season I probably would’ve given up hope. The speed and efficiency with which we’ve been able to score this year gave me reason to hold on longer though this time around.

Seeing Jalen come in had me worried. When he tied it up though, I knew we had them shook and were at the very least going to get to attempt a FG to win.
