Come on man, it is obvious he led with his shoulder and made contact well below the neck. Pick up the flag and no expulsion for the remainder of the egg hunt.

No leading with the crown, hit to the mid-section with the shoulder. That's a clean hit

Head up. Leads with the shoulder and doesn't make contact with the head or neck area in my opinion.

That looks like his natural running motion, coach.

Comes down to perceived intent...depends on dogs reputation and relationship to the egg hunter.

Depends on the team the dog plays for. LSU? Targeting according to SEC. Alabama? The kid got what he deserved and the kid is suspended

Upon further review the dog clearly launches....penalty stands and dog is disqualified for the remainder of the egg hunt....second angle provides clear video evidence of the dog launching....dirty play....

Hell if it were UGA he'd be penalized for leaping....

And upon further review that could be a Chessie...hard to tell for certain but if it is there is no doubt he would play dirty and be out to hurt someone....

I miss the old days when you were supposed to lead with the crown. You were also supposed to target the ball carrier and inflict as much damage as you could. If someone played dirty they were flagged 15 yards for unsportsmanlike conduct. If you ended someone's season with a dirty play, your season was pretty much over too.

The dog most definitely has enough sense not to lead with the crown though....fricker slides his head just before impact LOL...

Kids got to learn how to hold on to the basket though....he's about to move up a grade in the egg hunt field and those 6 year old girl cousins will be 10X harder to deal with than that dog....kid don't even make an attempt to fall on a loose egg....if he wasn't dead my HS coach would have had him running the hill and toting that basket around all week til he learned not to drop it....

Hitting a defenseless toddler from the blind side. Textbook targeting.

Protect the basket by carrying in the hand opposite the dog.

Kid needs to work on his awareness and keep head on a swivel.

The kid also needs to establish a wider base with some lean as he runs.

An Easter basket will draw a dog with quickness. Good leverage, lean, and carrying the basket in the proper hand can keep the kid in the game.
