March success is determined by backcourt play and rebounding. We're an average rebounding team.

I just hope we get out of the first round. It'll be the first NCAAT win for UGA basketball (that hasn't been vacated) since 1996.

Quite right. I was thinking 1996 vs Syracuse was Elite 8 but the 2 point loss prevented us from advancing to 8.

It’s so infrequent I’d think I could recall, but then memories fade after 30 years.

One of the most amazing Georgia basketball games I've ever witnessed. So many lead changes and two buzzer beaters. It should have been an Elite Eight or Final Four game.

I was 13 when they went to the final 4. Vern Fleming, James Banks, etc.. Fun team to watch.

I think considering our past history in basketball that is probably reasonable.

Be honest, though...after seeing our past history and taking it into account, would you say Mike White was a good fit here? A good hire for us? Don't compare him to your coach. Just take into account what georgia has been in the past, and what it is doing the last couple of years. Yes, it is pretty pedestrian stuff compared to Florida and some of the other schools in the SEC, but world's better than our past, and SEEMINGLY headed in the right direction. I think that is what shocks Georgia fans about Florida fans continuing to laugh at the White hire.

For instance. If Summrall gets Florida to a 9-3 record in his second year, would you say he was a good hire, considering he stopped the slide and actually would have the best record for Florida in 7 or 8 years? Of course! That is where we are at. Georgia fans understand we are not a power or a threat to make a run in March Madness, but we are at least headed in the right direction.
