Horrific with the pain that is that kind of break. The bad part is your calf muscles flexing and causing the broken bones to grind together.

I thought Prothro's was an ankle.

This kid has an open compound tibia fracture. Looking at 30-50 week recovery time. Close to 50% of these patients are not back to normal 12 months after the injury.


Sucks for the kid.

If there is a vascular injury the kid has a high chance of losing his leg.

I've only seen something similar to that one time in my life. It was a cheerleader doing a toe touch. She landed wrong and her tibia came though her skin too. That just made my stomach turn over to watch that.

It looked worse than Theismann's, Prothro's, and any of the kick-boxing ones I've seen. Just terrible to see.
