I think it was Mateer failing to run for the easy 1st down on the drive following Bama's first score.

Totally agree, if he runs for that first it's a different game, and OK probably wins it. Hard to explain to some people who don't watch much football, but football is a funny game and games can absolutely turn on things like that.

Look the fact is Alabama has better talent and far better depth than OU right now. Simpson's a 1st round QB. Bama's WR's are better than OU's, and they are pretty good on defense. OU got outclassed and outcoached. Looking back on it: even if that sequence didn't happen, Bama would still have likely won this game. OU had nothing to counter Bama's adjustments.

And there is something to say about a team who lost to OU twice in a row, and coming off a SECCG loss.. they were hungry and focused. OU was coming in rather confident and got humbled.

Oklahoma brought in 50 cent because they only played for 2 quarters.

A multitude of sins, but dropping the snap on the punt was the biggest killer IMO.

Yes in many ways it was the opposite of the first game. Alabama won because of turnovers, special teams and often times getting good field position.

That's football.

This can definitely be a formula for winning 1 playoff game or maybe 2 if you have a full sized rectal horse shoe. Unortunately Bama would have to win 4.

Are you scared because Alabama is getting healthy again, and also got 13 more days to heal after this game while not having any new major injuries?

I say this realizing full well that if the guy had caught the pass... nobody would be saying that he should have run. But they might still admit that it was the bigger risk.

And if he catches it Bama most likely still wins the game.

There wasn't one turning point. There was a collection of bone headed mistakes and the first bone headed mistake may have been that play where he dropped it. But in the end there was numerous plays that winning teams don't make. Like drop that ball, mess up the punt, miss the FG, etc.

No, I promise you that I'm not. Bama might have been more healthy, but they still looked sickly...

If that makes you feel better I guess.

In reality Alabama got off to bad start and those starts were mostly generated over 2.5 quarters including Alabama running the clock out for the 2nd half of the 4th quarter due to having a 10 point.

And it was done against what is rated as the #4 defense in power rankings.

If the team keeps playing like it did outside the 1st quarter, I'll be happy.

Evey win and loss is made up of plays one team made and plays the other team didbt make. Games can turn on a dime and many times all it takes is one play to change the flow of a game.

OU had plays they didnt make but Alabama had to in turn make plays to capitalize on the plays OU didnt make. The winn was earned by Bama and given away by OU.

You may or may not be in denial.

Alabama scored 34 points on 260 total yards (25 rushing yards). Your last 27 points came off less than 200 yards of offense.

Alabama fans got all gay and happy for the ESPN "projected outcome based on final statistics" nerd machine after the first Oklahoma game, so what does the nerd machine say this time?

Also keep in mind that Oklahoma's offense got booed in their own stadium in the two games right before you played them.

Give credit to Alabama's players for showing a lot of heart and not flinching, but shite man. Alabama still embarrassed the SEC in that game. Both teams did. It was a pretty sad game to watch.

Georgia embarrassed the SEC by looking like complete arse against Ga Tech. A game that was similar to the shite show of TAMU and Miami

You mean we played poorly in the 1st quarter and played better after?

You sound scared as frick.

Was it more embarrassing for the SEC than when Georgia gave up a 13-0 lead at halftime to a true freshman backup QB in the National Championship game?

Texas Tech or Alabama would be the best case scenario from that side of the bracket.

You're a 7 point underdog against frigging Indiana.

And here we go. Good Gawd - this is the part I hate on this board.

Oklahoma didn't quit. They didn't execute late - and 'Bama had something to do with that. But they didn't quit.

There is nothing ... nothing ... to dick measure here. One Hell of a game. 'Bama won. Oklahoma should be looking forward to next season. End of story.
