He absolutely is. But couldn't Ole Miss have the right to choose who coaches their team in the playoffs without the former coach threatening the school and the coaches that might want to stay?

Most people don't care if he moves on as much as how it was handled....if what came out is true.

Did he tell his coaches they would have to quit with him or would not be welcome to coach with him later on?
Did he threaten to poach all of the players and coaches from Ole Miss if Ole Miss did not allow him to coach the playoffs?

Those should be troubling things to LSU fans....IF TRUE.
He has a history of troubling behavior that would throw up red flags for me if I were a fan. That said, I don't think there is a question, he was the best candidate available, so kudos for that. I would just hang on for a bumpy ride with highs being a lot of wins and lows being a loose canon for a coach.

Honestly, though, the wild, unpredictable behavior is probably one of the things that makes him a really good coach.

no he didn't. The question was, "So is he not allowed to get a better job?"
And Koreandog said: No one said he's not allowed.

He wanted to finish coaching the season and the playoffs but Or Miss would not let him do that. So he left.

Again. He left THEN Ole Miss said he could not coach the playoffs. Your statement makes it sound as if he left because Ole Miss would not let him coach the playoffs.
(Actually, it would be more correct to say Ole Miss said IF he left he would not be allowed to coach the playoffs) But let's not pretend that that was the straw that broke the camels back.

I get why he left. More money. Better opportunity. It was the way he handled it. After the way LSU handled the Brian Kelly firing and the way Lane Kiffin handled leaving Ole Miss...it's going to be really entertaining to watch the two work together.

LSU did what was best for them. I think everyone gets it.

Time will tell if the struck gold or if it’s fools gold.

If it were our teams, most of us would be pumped and laugh at the tears from the school we took the coach from, especially it being a rival. But if this doesn't work out...and by workout it almost has to have at bare minimum an SEC championship if not a national title, it's gonna be glorious. I won't be pulling against LSU so much as Kiffin. And I probably speak for 90% of SEC fans that are not LSU fans. I probably wouldn't pull for UF to beat LSU or GA Tech to beat LSU if that matchup happened. But right now, I'd kind of be 50/50 on Auburn vs. LSU and UTK vs. LSU. Everybody else, I'm fully behind you as long as it costs my team nothing. And Ole Miss, my second fave SEC school now. LSU HC is a straight-up sorry excuse for a human being. Again, no hard feelings towards LSU fanbase. We'd all probably do the same in your situation.

Absolute truth that in today's world EVERYONE must have an opinion. And even better yet, that anyone actually gives a shite what that opinion is.

He’s already said this didn’t happen. No threats were given and no ultimatums issued. He also said he respects OM AD’s decision.

This was all a nothing burger that got blown up and out of proportion.

Kiffin has told the offensive coaches if they are not on the plane with him in the afternoon they won't be on his LSU staff, according to the report.
Clarion-Ledger

On3 reporter Brett McMurphy reported Saturday night that Kiffin wants to finish the season as Ole Miss’ head coach before taking the LSU job. McMurphy says Kiffin is even “threatening to poach” the Ole Miss coaching staff and players if they don’t let him coach the rest of the way.

Larry Brown Sports

It may or may not be true, but it has been reported.

You could be 100% correct. But, honestly...and try to be neutral...it being reported and many believing it could be true (Not Rant people, but football people) should be troubling and indicative of past behavior.

Hey. I think LSU went out and got the best available coach. It doesn't affect me one way or other. Congrats on getting your man, and i hope it works out for you.

Oh, but the jilted bride, Ole Miss, would have every reason to tell the truth, right?

Pretty giant leap from what I said

Successful coach
to what you said

the arrival of the messiah
so the rest of the stupid fricking straw man post you put together is irrelevant. Yes, he’s 11-1 at Ole Miss which is a success.

“Still would be terrible for him to try to threaten Ole Miss to keep his coaching job until the end of the season”

How do you know this happened? Because someone with no affiliation with the school said it and the echo chamber of sports confirmed it with bias because they wanted it to be true???

Living near and spending a lot of time in Oxford, I take great joy in the ole miss melt. Their fans are the most entitled losers I’ve ever met.

They literally haven’t won anything of note since before we announced plans to go to the moon and yet they talk as if they are a blue blood.

I can tolerate teams like UGA and Bama talking trash because they have a trophy case the back it up. But with ole miss it is just pathetic
