I am 61 years old. I have spent my adult live working with disadvantaged youth. I currently teach middle school math to incarcerated children, 12 to 15 years old. What Alabama is doing is horrible. My colleagues and I strive to teach our students that consequences flow from actions. Our students are watching this. They are learning from this. They see that thug behavior is rewarded if you are athletic enough. The University of Alabama is actively countering my life work. Shame. Shame.

This is a fantastic melt.

Jesus Christ dude, the University of Alabama is showing your students how the Law works. You are innocent until proven guilty, the one that committed the murder is behind bars paying the consequences.

You are a lousy teacher if you do not realize that

The hand wringing and virtue signaling on this board has gotten out of fricking control. These kids aren't going to be influenced by this shite. Of all the crazy as shite that happens in our country every single day that people get away with(and Miller didn't really get away with anything), this is going to tip the scale for them? Give me a break.

I’m with them every day. Truthfully, two weeks ago, I had never heard Miller’s name. Now, students are talking about him daily, wanting to emulate him. You can speculate all you want. I see what is in front of me. I’m done with this conversation now. I’ll keep on keeping on with the children that I’m blessed to serve.
They want to emulate what? His game on the court? His decked out car? His hair style?

Seriously, two weeks ago they didn’t know who he was and now they want to emulate him? This sounds like far fetched bullshite.

At this point it seems reasonable to hope for these Bama fans to suffer personal loss because someone decides the best course of action is to bring a weapon to a confrontational situation.

They are beyond being able to understand right from wrong and are uninterested in how this situation will influence future society

Win at all costs.

Innocent until proven guilty unless you are the key player on a team at a major university on a once in a lifetime run.

Anyone else would have been charged as an accessory and facing a trial to determine guilt or innocence.

WTH?
You take this message board shite way too seriously. tRant is the stinky a-hole of the internet and since 2010 Cam Newton (ATPB), it’s nothing more than an unmonitored troll pit.

To wish any fans to suffer personal loss due to some shite you read on this board is strange to say the least.

What the University is showing kids is that sometimes adults will stand up for you when an angry mob is attempting to destroy your life with false accusations

Bama's actions have been shameful. Only a total fool would say otherwise.

I really don't. My post history is pretty modest and I don't get caught up in rivalry stupidity. This situation is sickening, no reasonable person can think he didn't know the potential outcome of his actions, but the Tuscaloosa community is willing to propagate this mentality because they are winning.

I really don't want further harm to anyone, but am completely disgusted by defense of anyone within 2 degrees of this murder.

If you are so disgusted then take it to the Attny General, the Alabama Governor who also sits on UA’s BOT, take it people that can force an investigation of the DA and the presiding Judge over this case. In other words, DO something instead of harping and whining on a message board.
