I actually think Nutt would do a good job as the Dallas head coach, but a QB coach makes zero sense.

He would do better with pro players. Seems like he would be a fun guy to play for. He accomplished as much at Arkansas and Ole Miss as anyone could have expected of him. But Arky and Ole Miss still think it is the 60's.

Nutt to Dallas mite not make any football sense but Jones is a big Arkansas alum & it's obvious that that would be the connection. Nutt must have some ties to Jones thru Ark. As for football sense, when is the last time that Jones, as the GM, made any decent decision?

Chizik would be a better fit, he is used to working with paid players.

key being "expected of him".

Petrino has already matched Nutt's season high in wins with one game remaining and a chance to top it. and (with an AU win) Petrino may get us to a BCS bowl, something Nutt was never able to do.

It's not the 60's for Arkansas, but it's also no longer the '90s.

A+. Jones' original coach was Jimmy Johnson - they actually played together at UArk. Jones is becoming the 'new Al Davis', by meddling instead of managing. I grew up a Raiders fan, and can't believe the lengths Davis has gone to assert control, even when it's counter-productive. Jones is in the same vein.

Dale would be a disaster as an NFL head coach. His max-protect, 2-man routes would be a freakin' joke on that level(as they are in the SEC)....and those are a good 80% of his pass plays. What would he go to, the wild-rebel? haha...that's worked real well in Miami this yr, huh? His rah-rah crap is backed by ZERO substance. The NFL is all about knowing your x's and o's, not having players practicing celebrating together during your practice time...you guys know he does this, right?? He's a baffoon. So glad he's gone.

Hootie leaving would be the best thing that could possibly happen for Ole Miss right now.

anybody who would hire the QB Killa as a QB coach is the world's greatest idiot

I believe people in the NFL have more sense than this. JJ is tied to the Razorbacks' program but that doesn't mean he will give every Arkansas loser a job (re: Matt Jones).

They don't, but that doesn't mean that Hootie will get the job either.

He also did something (twice) that Petrino has never done and may never do: get you to an SEC title game.

Have you watched the NFL lately? Noticed how Darren Mcfadden, Peyton Hillis, and Felix Jones are all NFL RB's.

In 2007, we had them all. With an experience O-line and defense. We won 8 games. Houston Nutt= superman

I am hearing that Nutt is just being used by Sexton as a smoke screen while Saban is in talks with Dallas.

Saban evidently lost the 3 games this year on purpose to try and get us to hate him and want him out of Tuscaloosa but his plan didn't work. They are saying that he actually tried to lose 4 games this year but that Ole MIss was so bad our team couldn't even throw the game.
