Unfortunately, many big boosters hated Gus. They were Nutt-huggers that saw Gus as the reason for Nuttbag's failure. Threatened to pull $ if Gus got the job.
At least among coaches here in AR, he's very well thought of.
He gave them the official "no" Monday night. They were about around $60,000 apart.

You're so clever calling me Harold.

I'm interested to find out why the Collums hire didn't happen. That looked like a done deal yesterday morning.
Horton wasn't passed on....they couldn't make $ work.
Dale would be a disaster as an NFL head coach. His max-protect, 2-man routes would be a freakin' joke on that level(as they are in the SEC)....and those are a good 80% of his pass plays. What would he go to, the wild-rebel? haha...that's worked real well in Miami this yr, huh? His rah-rah crap is backed by ZERO substance. The NFL is all about knowing your x's and o's, not having players practicing celebrating together during your practice time...you guys know he does this, right?? He's a baffoon. So glad he's gone.
If Dale steps down then the Ole Miss folks are the luckiest people on earth....they only had to put up with him for 3 yrs. NOT RIGHT!!!!
This was a planned visit, they told KF they would come see him in the play-offs weeks ago. Wouldn't surprise me one bit to see KF go with Gus if Gus leaves BUT he won't just take any job. He could have had a D1 job last yr if that's all he was looking for. The Fraziers very much realize that Gus won't be around to see KF finish his college career. If KF is Auburn's QB next yr, Aub's passing game is gonna struggle. He's a great runner, but makes some real questionable decisions throwing it and throws late a lot. Potential as a passer is obviously there, but he's got work to do.
