They have a QB who didn't play that well last year, one difference maker on defense and a bunch of transfers from ULL who will be starting at UF... which I don't see as a good thing.
I think Utah wins by 3+ scores... not because Utah is great but rather because I view UF as a Missouri level program in the SEC right now, not as a Tennessee or UK level which many others put them at.
UF lost 4 games last year with the MOD 7 points or less:
Alabama 31 Florida 29
Kentucky 20 Florida 13
LSU 49 Florida 42
Missouri 24 Florida 23
With a team that completely lacked discipline and with a QB situation that turned into a circus due to Mullen's decisions.
Sure I don't think UF wins 10 games this year, but that is how slim the margin was last year from UF being a 10 win team.

spreads are always smaller in season openers because it’s tough to tell how a team will end up.
But at this point there’s no reasonable argument you can make or metric you can point out for why Utah is not better other than “muh SEC”

yeah you clearly don’t subscribe to any type of power rankings or efficiency stats. You won’t be able to find one that says UF is better.

Utah’s defense is legit. They had the second best pass rusher last season. Not sure if he’s still there or not.

They are not supremely talented, but they are an experienced team that is used to winning and plays fricking hard.

Give me the Utes in a hard fought 31-21 win, where they score a touchdown in the final minutes to make a close game look like it wasn’t as close as it was.
