I forgot to mention how many people I saw drinking Bud Light. Old people, young people, at bars and restaurants. In Georgia, I haven't seen anyone drinking bud light for months. But it was everywhere in South Carolina last week. Like they didn't even care.

the fishing is also better in Georgia...

Not so sure about that. The brown trout in SC have brilliant red spots on their sides. The "brown trout" in Georgia frequently have corn embedded in them. The Chattahoochee is an environmental wreck just downstream of Atlanta.

Second point could be made by asking: "If the fishing is better in Georgia, then why go to South Carolina to fish?"

Overall, I agree. I prefer Georgia to South Carolina. But I'm not gonna slam SC for their way of life or method of doing things. That's their state to govern as they see fit and as visitors to that state we should be quite content to abide by their way of doing things while we're there.

Most of the SC coast and Georgia coast as well is now over-run with retirees from the NE who could not bring themselves to put up with the craziness of Florida but could no longer tolerate New Jersey winters. Myrtle Beach and Charleston are both horrible places but Beaufort is still tolerable...and the up state is as nice as it ever was which is at least as nice as most of the south. The midlands are what they have always been.

The case for the entire south.

My mothers retirement neighborhood is overrun with self loathing Yankees that are told tk be liberals.

Some of the shite I read on her nextdoor app are horrible.
