I get the points made in the overreacting to Bama vs. Texas post on the scoreboard, but.

(Disclaimer: Bama is very much a player for the NCship, SECship, West etc. This is not some prediction saying they are not a formidable team.)
..... that whole beating you when they get off the bus thing is disappearing. There was a complete fear before that you were gonna get embarrassed. Last year they lost two games (once to an unranked team) and then had three close games with teams that weren't even very good (two fired their coaches, and the other one appears to be on life support now). They were also challenged by Arkansas, a good team.
We'll see what Texas ends up being, but where we used to assume if they had a game like this, the other team must be much better than we thought, that wasn't always the case last year.
Their A game is still elite, but the consistency of bringing at least B game every time out is not there now.
While the usual Bama defense is "that three year run of elite WR talent doesn't happen all the time", Bama still didn't struggle like this very often before those years.
All taht said, the team last year had the lead in the fourth quarter of the NCG. I expect them to be right in the thick of it until the end, like always.

I said in week 1 that bama was not going to be good. I attributed that to their lack of wr talent and I was attacked for that. I stand by my statement, and if I were bama I would hope I don’t make it to Atlanta. Georgia will remove any of that excuse talk for good.

The Bama WR's really struggled yesterday but it's hard to envision them not making huge strides by the end of the season.

They’ll get better at route running. But they do not have the home run threat to take the top off the defense like they have had in the past.

Bama went on the road at noon in 120° heat & beat their record setting OC from two years ago. Bama has elite talent & coaching.
I think they'll be just fine.

The Bama speed receiver hasn't played yet. Been injured.

This is the first time in 14 years, going back to Julio Jones, they do not have at least one elite perimeter WR.

Arkansas is up in 3 weeks. Let's see if you're back talking shite after that game.

Our fastest WR returns to the team this week.
But please, continue with your deep, in-depth analysis.

It was kind of shocking seeing how completely disjointed the offense was the first 2-3 quarters. Not just the wide receiver drops, Young had a ton of overthrows and outside of the big run in the 1stQ they couldn’t run the ball.
The front 7 on the defense looked good, but the defensive backfield was just bad. Before he got hurt Ewers was carving it up and it’s gonna be worse if they get a ref crew that calls PI’s tighter than this crew did.
I definitely think the offense improves, but I don’t know about the defensive secondary. Obviously they’re still good enough to win every game on their schedule but I agree, the “unbeatable” aura is gone.

Y'all better up your game if you're gonna win in Fayetteville hoss. That egg you laid in Austin won't work on the hill.

You wanna make a little wager on who gets an "L" hung on-em first?

Bama’s done. Exposed yesterday. You drop 3 this year.

I think he might be talking about Tyler Harrell, the Louisville transfer. He's a burner with 4.3 speed.

Did I say they wouldn't be fine?
Point is more that the shock and awe is gone.
That was half the battle.
Will they have more games like this one?
We didn't think so after Florida last year. We thought Florida was great. We were wrong.
