And that's why there is no crying for Georgia. Alabama and Clemson Players have been licking their wounds for the last few weeks and expectations haven't changed.
What in the world are you saying about your football program that it's that fragile with a couple of starters down?
For one: It's not elite.
Probably because neither are as wounded as uga. I bet your tune would change if your starting QBs quit before the season.

You do know there are more than "a couple of starters down" right?
We have more than a couple.

So, just off the top of my head we are down 6. I am curious who Alabama and Clemson is down?

But we dont have another 340 pounder to sit on the nose and play at an elite level.
This is football. I dont think you are understanding what I am saying. We can still field an elite defense (front 7). But we have to change schematically how we approach the run game and pass game.
Fortunately, you guys are playing Florida this week. They are going to be throwing the hell out of that ball. How often were you planning on having a 340 lbs nose tackle rushing Trask? Missing LeCount would make a lot more strategic sense.

Clemson Dabo Swinney previously announced that starting middle linebacker James Skalski will be out for Saturday’s game against Notre Dame.
He revealed Wednesday night that the Tigers will be down two additional defensive starters as well.
Starting defensive tackle Tyler Davis and starting Sam/Nickel linebacker Mike Jones Jr. will both be out against Notre Dame. Clemson will also be down defensive end Xavier Thomas for the first half of Saturday’s game after he was ejected for targeting in the second half.
So Clemson is down 3 players and we are down 6.
Alabama is down 2 starters and one backup and we are down 6 starters. Again, that sounds perfectly equal.
And I didn't even mention or count Newman, since he never took a snap but was a huge loss.

he actually gets great push from the middle that helps collapse the pocket and prevents teams from double teaming our edge rushers. That makes a huge difference. I mean, think it in terms of losing Quinnen Williams a couple of seasons ago for Alabama. Do you think it would have made much of a difference?

I told you what the situation is with Clemson in detail. They been dealing with defensive injuries and now Lawrence and they have to go into South Bend this evening and play a good team as well.
Are you guys bracing this hard for this Florida team? My goodness.

That's an All-American caliber LBer that's been missing the last few weeks and their starting Nickle Lber as well. 2 more starters on the line, one will miss the first half and Lawrence. Shouldn't the starting QB be counted here? That's 5 with a bullet.
You dawgs are doing some serious barking. It's like you're scared of your shadow against these Gators.

My melt about how bad Mullen was in game last year is well-documented on this board

Yes. It pays to respect your opponents. If Alabama had done that the last two years you might have two more National Championships.

Agreed, but you should also agree that you were in the minority. Just check out Straws posts.
Btw, where is Straws? I figured we would be seeing him a lot this week, but I haven't seen him at all. I hope he is well. We rarely agree on stuff, but I have no ill will towards him.

And we are missing an All_American safety and All-American potential DT.

2 more starters on the line, one will miss the first half
quote:Obviously the biggest loss of both teams.
Lawrence
quote:Not scared. We just know e are playing a very talented team with much of our strength missing. I mean, our defense is our strength and that is where most of our players are missing.

And yet we were still good enough to run your butt out of Tuscaloosa. And we'll be more than happy to do it again for you in a couple of weeks in our home away from home.

Not gonna put his news on here, but you'll find out if you read his last thread on the UF board.
I don't know if he'll be back on here.

So it is your position that you would run us out of Tuscaloosa so it is proper to disrespect your opponents even if it costs you a National Championship? Okay.
quote:You absolutely can. then you will face an Ohio State or Clemson with no respect and get run out of a National Championship by 30 points again.
And we'll be more than happy to do it again for you in a couple of weeks in our home away from home.

Got it. I can respect his privacy. I'll look for his thread, and hope he is okay. Thanks.

Just saw his thread, and I'm sorry to hear about that. That's shocking. It has a tendency to make one step back and reassess priorities. I'll be praying for him and his family.

Mullen is an excellent game planner and always has a good game plan going into games.
That was supposedly true last year prior to UGA-UF.
Was that the excellent game plan where the players had different plays on their arm bands than MuLLLen called?
Excellent indeed!

Only a biased fan would say Mullen is not an excellent coach at game planning and game prep during the week.
Which is COMPLETELY separate from actual game-day decisions and in game coaching.

You think Mullen has prepped and planned well against Kirby the last 10 times he faced his defense and failed to put up more than 17 points?
Or the gameday decisions is where it annually falls apart the last 9 times?

You're really gonna compare his game plan with talent at MSU vs what Kirby had to work with at Bama?
