I was reading the "Why is Texas number 1 over Kentucky" thread. One fan pointed out haven't they learned that they are inferior to the SEC yet, or something of that nature.

What I wanna know is how does have less yards than the team you beat, and getting lucky enough to knock your opponent's QB out with a freak injury show dominance? Bama. the team that had 75 total yards in the second half, didn't look dominant to me. They looked like a team that got lucky that the catalyst of the Texas offense was a true freshman. IMO, anyone else under center with any experience, and Bama probably loses. They surely weren't dominant though.

Winning by 16 points kinda did it for me.

Texas fan I'm guessing. Which makes that probable.

Two one hundred yard rushers against the number one ranked rushing defense spells dominance. Bama was much more physical and hit Texas in the fricking mouth.

I watched the game, and saw a freshman lining up for the go ahead drive with three minutes left to play. The score was 24-21 at that point. If not for a failed adjustment on protection with the left tackle, they could have very well won that game. That is not a dominant performance. OSU-UF 06=dominant. LSU-OSU 07=dominant. I would even say last year was dominant, but that game was not dominant. Anytime you are biting your nails with 3 mins left to play. It is not a dominant performance by either team.

Not that I agree with anything in your post, but Bama was not required to DOMINATE them....only to BEAT them.

They did.

If....

If not for blown coverages, Shipley might not have scored. See how this works?

Uh, 75 total yards in the second half when Texas finally got the freshman comfortable shows what the game was really about.

Anyone can roll up good yardage when the other offense is floundering, and can't get a first down with an 18 year old quarterback. They were getting shut down in the second half when the defense actually got a blow. That's what I saw. I will excuse any defense that has an offense that has 3 first downs out of 15 or so possessions. Once they got going, they were locking down Bama's running game. 22-66 yards in the second half.

You'll never see me claim Alabama didn't WIN the game, they did it was fair and they beat the Longhorns. But they did beat a team with a quarterback who'd only taken 26 snaps in college football to that point.

I could argue that the Horns beat themselves more than Alabama beat them.

There's the pick 6 "shovel pass" to close the half, then Gilbert's fumble late in the 4th. That's 14 points right there that I'd blame on inexperience more than domination.

They gave up two 100 yard games to Ingram and Richardson sure, Alabama had to run the ball 51 times to get that. Texas for the game had 45 plays, Alabama ran more running plays than Texas had total plays. That discrepancy is due to the offense going into ultra-conservative mode (read 3 & out mode) for most of the first half after Colt went down.

We got beat, I'm not trying to cheapen Alabama's win at all, but there's no way you'll ever convince me that Alabama dominated the game.

How? By running the ball? What a halftime adjustment!

no one is arguing that you didn't win, just that you weren't dominant.
