Didn't Saban once say that he always finishes what he started?

Perhaps that was the 4th finger into Makers Mark night, but I would swear it.

I agree with you that Fisher isn't leaving A&M for LSU but these kind of statements always confuse me.

Recruits and coaches seem to care very little about which city a particular school is located in.

Good luck in a bidding war with A&M. Last time we had a coach leave voluntarily was Bear Bryant during the Eisenhower Administration.

Meh. LSU will always be better than A&M. Even Les got a natty at LSU. A&M on the other hand…19freaking39 or some shite.

Like I said believe what you want. As a Alabama fan I hope Ed wins 9 games and gets to stay. He proved to me what he is last year when he hired Pellini

If Jimbo also gets Matthews and you don't think that's a concern I guess that's fine but you are in denial.

I honest to God have no concern over Matthews. He’ll be a Tiger in December. He wanted money; and he wanted to party with his friends after a long, long dead period. Good on him for making all the money he can and milking this 5* label for what it’s worth…I’m not really sure how A&M fans can’t see they’re being played? I guess their used to being cucked so they can’t even recognize when it’s happening.

The post I was responding to was that Jimbo would be able to get better talent at LSU, I just don't see how that is objectively true

How do you not understand that? Dude think about it; LSU has out-recruited you guys already and that is without Texas being a focal state. So if Jimbo can really recruit the state of Texas as well as y’all say he can; then imagine all the talent he’d get combining La and Texas kids…

It doesn’t matter though honestly. I’m not sure why were even debating or arguing over a mediocre coach…. We all know the second Elko leaves, A&M is screwed.

Eh Ole miss is extremely difficult to win at without cheating. I consider his LSU record to be more valid in comparing them. The talent gap between Alabama and LSU IS #1 to #2-5 recruiting rankings. For Ole Miss it is like a 25-50 rank difference.
Immediately after firing O, Ole Miss won 9 games in back to back seasons and won two Cotton Bowls.

With O's players.

Now do what happened once his players filtered out.

Freeze signed a top 10 recruiting class with Nkemdiche, Tunsil, Treadwell etc and went had a 10 win season in 2015 beating UA,AU, LSU and aTm and finished #17 in the country

The average class is 6.5 to 4.75 and if A&M closes strong they could literally make that even this year. That's as close to "virtually no difference" as possible, it's literally a few analysts rating a few kids a 5 star or a 4 star.

Jimbo's classes at FSU were also very similar to his classes at A&M overall, once again trying to split hairs on average classes of a 3 or a 4 vs a 5 or a 6 is pretty silly but go for it.

O will be out soon with all of the sexual misconduct running rampant at LSU. He's an average to below average coach to boot. Caught lightning in a bottle with Burrow.

Yeah LSU is always better. That’s why LSU has a losing record to Jimbo and they are on track to get their shite pushed in once again this fall

Agree it isn't a major factor for most but it does matter some. Baton Rouge has amazing food and LSU has a great gameday atmosphere but the city just voted to break in half for a reason. There is a small part of Bryan that is trash but anything within several miles of the Campus at A&M is very nice and safe. There is a reason so many LSU grads live in Texas but not many Texans move to Louisiana.

I do love to fish there and the food though, freaking epic. Happy to do that on a road trip.

Alabama has raped the state of Texas the last few years and will be signing 5* S Denver Harris this year

Actually Ohio State has been raping Texas effectively as well. That's actually the point.

If Jimbo can win then he can show kids they can stay close to home and win. If he then gets the lions share of Texas recruits A&M is going to be very, very hard to beat (esp because Jimbo likes to get some National recruits as well and has deep connections in Louisiana and Florida).

Right now A&M is recruiting around the Top 5 and they are only getting a few of the top Texas recruits. Lock that down like Sherrill, RC, and Mack did and watch out. Have to win though.

A&M was 4-0 against LSU when I was in school. We beat you again and then you cancelled the series. The idea that LSU has always been superior to A&M is delusional and if you don't think that the resource advantages A&M has over LSU matter to the ability for A&M to surpass LSU then I would recommend you check your hubris.
