Exit dalrymple and take a right on highland to get to north gate if you want to see the college and get a bite to eat.

Would this be a part of town where there are lots of truck stops? Went to BR in high school for a baseball tournament and we stayed our first night in town at a Shoney's Inn next to an adult store (maybe called Candy's?). Seemed like a pretty seedy part of town, but that was all cleared up when someone asked the pizza delivery guy if it was a bad part of town and he said, "Not really, just a lot of truckers and hookers around here"

You were not in BR, you were in lovely Port Allen - west of the river.

If he thinks that seedy. That's high rent. Should have eased on down to White Castle.

I used to love this city before thuggin' and lovin it, people mean mugging wherever you go, when cops did their jobs, etc. Now it is full of crime and filth.

I miss those days but they did make CFB take a backseat. Enjoy and good luck.

Get off on Perkins exit. Right on Perkins and head to Chelsea's for dinner and drinks. Thank me later, my favorite place to eat in town. Also very affordable. Perkins exit is right before college headed east on I-10.

Chelsea's is definitely a place out of towners should try. Everything on the menu is amazing. I am actually going to eat there for dinner tonight
