How would you want your head coach to retire?

With the season long retirement tour becoming de rigueuer in baseball (any Yankee calling it a career for instance...), I was thinking that it would be awesome for Spurrier to do that in ten years when he hangs up his headset. A season long good bye seems like the right way to go (being @ UGA, @ UF and Clemson in WBS seems appropriate, but impossible with current schedules, but I digress).
But then there is the unenviable position that most schools find themselves in with the sudden, unintentional retirement due to illness/scandal (FSU (Bowden), Florida (Meyer), PSU (Paterno) and Arkansas (Patrino) for instance). While this could be very jarring, it is also in the band aid ripping class, IMO. It's bad, but it's over quick and the search committee can get a head start.
So, if your current/favorite coach decided to do a season long farewell tour, would you be on board? Would it seem like too much of a distraction for the team? How would you like to see your coach hang it up?

i can imagine how old, frail and weak spurrier would look in 10 years if he's still coaching. i hope for him and the rest of us we don't have to witness that.

Well... this is him at 69.
So, more grey hair maybe?

yeah, he's already old, that's my point.
he'll be 80 or right at it. i hope he retires with dignity well before then.

Ok... but how would you like to stay on topic and tell me how you want your coach to retire?

He'll go-out his way in a couple two or three years .... 2016 or 2017, on top as a winner. Preferably with a SEC Championship under his belt here at SCAR and handing-off the reigns of the program to his Son, Bubba.
He will leave in 2016 if he wins a Championship that year. But who knows, if he won it all this year he'd probably leave ... he's like that, don't you think?
Bubba's family were just about all born here ... Dad wants to hand it off to him when we are in the best shape possible.
Spurrier wants to go-out on top, as close to the top as possible. That's relative because his family will be here with him when he retires and with his Son still coaching here ... that's about as "top" as most of us could hope for in our lives.

why? 99.9% of the time it's not applicable anyway. coaches come, coaches go.

I don't think you guys are going to have to worry about this hypothetical situation. Bert's just going to keel over on the sideline and one of his assistants would pick up the headset and keep going.
But if you had the option of your coach motorcycling off into the sunset with his mistress, having a massive coronary while stuffing his face at the buffet, or simply retiring due to achieving everything he wanted to in football... which would you choose?

Honestly, I'm just shocked you got a whole two sentences in before getting confused and going off on a tangent. Usually, you guys are befuddled after the first couple words... So kudos!!

I just want him to go out with a good feeling and season, having one his last game. I would hate for him to leave b/c he's pissed we only won 8 games, like uga did this past season.

Dying while having sex with a woman half his age. What other good way is there to retire?

As a very old man while hoisting the national championship trophy during the trophy ceremony.
