I disagree with this significantly. This year’s Bama has only played 2 top 30 offenses and has given up an average of 19.5 points a game
2019 LSU played 6 top 30 offenses and gave up an average 21.9
To take this farther, against the top 30 offenses they played
Alabama: 47.5 pts a game
LSU: 30 points a game

Not really, you just made something up. There is no data nor is their anything in the eye test that would suggest offenses are better this year than last.
You’re just trying to avoid the fact that even in stats you don’t have a better defense this year, and no one would watch your games and say it’s a better defense than the one that played Clemson last year.
You have no leg to stand on to say Alabama’s defense is better, and the offense certainly isn’t better

No legit Top 5 team from the SEC struggles to beat Vandy and the worst LSU team this century.
Any legit Top 5 SEC team would have beaten teams like that at least 50-7.
