Like I said in an earlier post, people have their opinions of important games.

You're kind on thinking the same I am in that "some don't care about DSOR" while I don't care about their game(s). My issue is that they think it's okay to keep their game but not mine.
Which then goes to the "keep 3/rotate the rest" format which I've also discussed on here.

I want OU in with 77-0 so they have to lose to Oklahoma every year. Beyond that I don’t care.

Careful what you want. Curious, why didn’t you use the last score in the football series?

Reading through the thread a small point I saw one person make was the historical rivalry between Kentucky and Tennessee (and Kentucky and Georgia).
That might not be possible to preserve (like the MSU Alabama series) but I could see it working at the same time you allowed Auburn to play Alabama, Georgia, and Florida every year. At the same time you could allow Alabama to keep their annual Auburn, Tennessee, and LSU games. And Florida could keep Auburn, Tennessee, and LSU as annual opponents.
It would just be a variation of the pods where you switched Auburn and Kentucky. The fixed out of pod opponents are in parentheses
Florida (Tennessee, LSU, Texas)
Georgia (Kentucky, A&M, Oklahoma)
Auburn (Alabama, MSU, Arkansas)
USC (Vanderbilt, OM, MU)
Alabama (Auburn, LSU, Oklahoma)
Tennessee (Florida, A&M, Arkansas)
Kentucky (Georgia, MSU, MU)
Vanderbilt (USC, OM, Texas)
LSU (Florida, Alabama, Arkansas)
A&M (Georgia, Tennessee, Texas)
OM (USC, VY, OU)
MSU (Auburn, Kentucky, MU)
Oklahoma (OM, Georgia, Alabama)
Texas (A&M, Florida, VY)
Arkansas (LSU, Auburn, Tennessee)
MU (MSU, USC, Kentucky)
These make geographic sense but the biggest appeal was how many of the Auburn vs Arkansas, Tennessee vs Arkansas, MSU vs KY, OM vs VY, Florida vs Tennessee, Florida vs LSU, and Alabama vs LSU games are preserved.
The weakness? I don't think any programs other than possibly Arkansas are excited about OU, Missouri, and Texas replacing their traditional rivalry games. That die has been cast though. All of the solutions mean some loved games (like Auburn vs LSU) are going to be played less frequently.

Say what you want about the DSOR, but the SEC office must care a little since it’s always either the 3:30 game on CBS or the 7:30 on ESPN. It’s never on SECN, or a 12pm kick..
Why?? Because it draws 9M views every year no matter the records and at least. 2.7 share.
WLOCP has been a lock for 3:30 on CBS for ever, it’s a held time slot..
LSU- Bama will rotate long before either of these 2 do.. you can take that to the bank!

There'll be New 8-team East/West divisions, with AL & AU in the East and MO, OK & TX in the West. There'll be 9 SEC games; 7 intra-div + 2 of 8 cross-div rotating yearly (playing all 8 once within 4 years).

You sincerely believe there will be a division called “Dixie”?

Either Oklahoma to east and TexASS to the west
Or
What the OP suggested a reshuffle each year based on ranking to form equitable divisions....

If we go to 2 8 team divisions…
How many traditional rivalries are not intact??
Alabama
Auburn
Florida
Georgia
Kentucky
South Carolina
Tennessee
Vanderbilt
Arkansas
LSU
Miss St
Ole Miss
Missouri
Oklahoma
Texas
Texas Am
I really can’t think of any.. left out
DSOR
WLOCP
IB
TSIO
EGG
LSU-OLE MISS
Vandy-Ut
UF-UT
UT-UK
Tex Am- Texas
Red River
.. I may have missed some, but I think they all stay intact. The biggest issue is only seeing a cross Div team once every 4 years.
That’s why I think doing away from divisions is best not only do you double that and get home and home, but you also get the best 2 teams in the SECCG.

I don’t know, it’s not like we have played cross Div teams that often the past 10 years. So it appears the SEC doesn’t really care about that one.
The bigger question is going to be 8 or 9 game conference schedule. No idea what they are going to do with that one.

Just seems like that would be a LOADED division.
We already have years where LSU plays all three of those schools with UF being our Permanent Foe and then when UGA rotates on, the stretch in those years is BRUTAL.
How ever we have won multiple national titles plays all three, but not in the regular season

Meh. I can live with this. Even if I cannot stand the thought of letting Texas and Oklahoma into tSEC, at least we get regional alignments straightened out.
The 2 best/strongest divisions in CFB:
8-team Divisions -- 9 opponents/year
7 in-division/year + 2/8 cross-div/year
SEC-East:
AL: AU, GA, FL, KY, TN, SC, VU
+2: LS MO, OK MS, OM TX, AR TA
AU: AL, GA, FL, KY, TN, SC, VU
+2: OK MS, OM TX, AR TA, LS MO
FL: AL, GA, AU, KY, TN, SC, VU
+2: OM TX, AR TA, LS MO, OK MS
GA: AL, AU, FL, KY, TN, SC, VU
+2: AR TA, LS MO, OK MS, OM TX
KY: AL, AU, GA, FL, TN, SC, VU
+2: OM TX, AR TA, LS MO, OK MS
SC: AL, AU, FL, GA, KY, TN, VU
+2: AR TA, LS MO, OK MS, OM TX
TN: AL, AU, GA, FL, KY, SC, VU
+2: OK MS, OM TX, AR TA, LS MO
VU: AL, AU, FL, GA, KY, TN, SC
+2: LS MO, OK MS, OM TX, AR TA
SEC-West:
AR: LS TA OM MS MO OK TX
+2: GA SC, KY FL, TN AU, AL VU
LS: TA OM MS AR MO OK TX
+2: AL VU, GA SC, KY FL, TN AU
OM: LS MS TA AR MO OK TX
+2: KY FL, TN AU, AL VU, GA SC
MS: LS OM TA AR MO OK TX
+2: TN AU, AL VU, GA SC, KY FL
MO: AR OK TX LS OM MS TA
+2: AL VU, GA SC, KY FL, TN AU
OK: AR MO TX LS OM MS TA
+2: TN AU, AL VU, GA SC, KY FL
TA: LS OM MS AR MO OK TX
+2: GA SC, KY FL, TN AU, AL VU
TX: AR MO OK LS OM MS TA
+2: KY FL, TN AU, AL VU, GA SC
More high-value matchups play yearly
(twice as many as w/ pods or 3 fixed rivals).

It's pretty likely both SEC division winners get in the CFP final-4 rankings. 1 or 2 more SEC teams could get in an expanded CFP.

Interesting.
Was going to say SEC WON'T split same-state schools into different groups... but you kept it with Ala./Aub. & TA&M & Tx., so...

Geographically: Ala./Aub./UGA/UF & Tn./Vandy/SC/Ky. make better sense.

I saw something like this on College Football Chronicles YouTube channel. Think he did the ACC where 2 teams were paired up & 1 played Team A while 2 played Team B, then they flopped.
3&4 played Teams C&D
5&6 played Teams E&F
7&8 played Teams G&H
Let me see if I can find it.
Can't ask unless you have a Twitter or Instagram acct. (I don't do either).

Zero chance this game is ever on a rotation and not yearly.
Would never happen.
