As it is we should be looking to contract back to the original teams pre 1991.

Virginia and North Carolina. Those and we would own D1 football for all time. We may anyway.
But this would bring North Carolina, Virginia and Washington, D.C. markets, without compromising our territorial identity.

Go back to how it was before the first expansion.
Replace MSU with TAMU.
9 game schedule.
Profit.

This maybe true for now but the next time Mizzou and LSU meet we are going to frick your girlfriends, drink your beer, and take a shite on your front porch as we are leaving

Dirtydawg a little history lesson. First off Missouri is represented by one of the stars on the Confederate Flag. So if VT and UNC came to the SEC all 13 stars would then be represented. Second Kentucky never succeeded so they weren't officially part of the Confederacy either. As a matter of fact when Braxton Bragg invaded Kentucky from the south Kentucky snipers shot at his army. One last thing, Missouri did provide 40,000 troops to the Confederate army (and 100,000 to the Union Army/the 140,000 total was more than the 100,000 Georgia provided total). Missouri for the most part is a Midwestern state, but it does have southern and Civil War History. It also has the advantage of never having to deal with Mr. Sherman and his little march to the sea.

Can we just make this a macro for every time it comes up? I suggest : useless :

Miz is right. I hate to admit it, but he is right.
And if history serves, Sherman's guards were Alabamians.

Don't remind me.
We also had a county (Winston) secede from the state when Alabama seceded. I don't know if they provided any troops for the Union (if they did, it was negligible, as it is still a small county). Oddly enough, today it is probably one of the most hickish counties in the state.

Missouri really needs to go away. The whole feel of SEC football is off now. It's just they don't get it, never will. Before you answer with the played for the title in football last season remember Miss. State did as well once.
WTF. Mizzou have a pretty good football history. A lot of bowl appearances, good history considering tough academic stance. If Mizzou took the NU and OU route when it came to academics believe me they'd have a few national titles during their Big 8 years.

When will SEC fans get it....those teams don't want to join the SEC.lol. People crack me up by saying Clemson, FSU, VT, UVA. If they really wanted to join the SEC they would have made the push along with Mizzou and aTm. They have the money to get out of the buyout like Mizzou and aTm did. I mean are they too broke to get out of the ACC buyout, doubt it. They don't want to be apart of the SEC....If they did they'd left 2yrs ago.

If you are looking at ratings and $$, you have to think Texas and Florida State.
A&M and Florida would never let it happen though.

The horns are belly-deep in their own TV network, taking them outta any expansion conversation.
That has nothing to do with A&M.

Florida State rejected an offer to join the SEC. Chicken arse Daddy Bowden stated that he didn't want to play Bama and Auburn every year. He also stated that he wanted to win NC's and not conference championships. He pussied out on an offer to join the SEC. Does FSU have a major rival in the SEC? Oh wait, Florida is in the SEC along with Ga. Techs major rival, which is Georgia. Go and ask older Tech fans what the biggest mistake that Tech made in sports and they will tell you that it was leaving the SEC. BTW, Tech and Bama had one of the most heated rivalries in the nation. Do a google search on why Fla. State declined to be in the SEC. Florida by no means would have blocked their membership.
