Funny how much a differnce a year makes the year before that he beat the Bear 20-10 and was hero.

The year after he was gone and Bill Arnsparger
comes in LSU almost beat Neb. in the Orange Bowl but, they lost 21-20 and Neb was the NC that year.

Maybe a special provision where they could use points scored against?

Well, actually Penn State was #1 in '82. Nebraska did have a great team with their only loss being by a fg to Penn State.

The '83 season was my SR year.Stovall did a commercial for a celluar company where he mentioned he "could be reached in a moment's notice".As the season fell apart and Brodhead's displeasure for Stovall grew more public, you knew Stovall's time was up when the Alabama game was moved from night time to 11:00 for ABC.Stovall wanted to keep it at night and was upset that he hadn't been consulted. Brodhead said he "couldn't get hold of him".

You knew it was curtains for Jerry.

The last time I recall LSU scoring my age was in the rough year of 1999 against Ole Piss.

I remember that Brodhead did not like Jerry from the beginning. But, when He beat the Bear the year before he had to keep him another year, so He did all he could to make sure that Jerry lost or had all the things that make sure he had a chance of loosing. That was epic La. politics and Brodhead fit right in.

that was a wild season. Anyone who thinks or thought before the BCS that the Sugar Bowl hated LSU,needs to read up on that year.

That was a darn good Southern Miss team that year. Glad LSU didn't play them in '81.
