How Nick Saban killed the SEC

Yet down in the Southeast portion of the country, where football supposedly just matters more, it’s been a quiet spring and summer. Gone is the bluster of just a few years ago — where virtually half the league entered the season believing they had enough talent to win a national championship — and in is a new reality, where Alabama is once again an overwhelming favorite to win the conference. Keep in mind that the Crimson Tide are already the three-time defending champions.
That’s right, Nick Saban‘s club is dominating the SEC in a way that no one has been since Steve Spurrier’s Florida Gators in the mid-1990s, and there are no signs that Alabama is letting up or that anyone else is getting closer.

Current SEC coaches are a combined 2-32 against Saban in their careers, and have combined to win one SEC title, compared to the six from Saban (including his time at LSU). That includes the last three, during a stretch where Saban has gone 25-2 against SEC opposition. Oh, by the way, those two losses came to Hugh Freeze, who is entirely out of coaching as we speak.
Etc. etc.

The article doesn't say that. It says:
quote:
Current SEC coaches are a combined 2-32 against Saban in their careers
One of those wins belongs to Gus, the other to Sumlin

Neither Gus nor Sumlin have beaten Alabama in the last three seasons. Those belong to Freeze, who is not a current SEC coach.
Is English that hard?

Since Gus beat Saban
8-5
7-6
8-5
One Birmingham Bowl win.
Since Sumlin beat Saban
9-4
8-5
8-5
8-5
One Peach Bowl win, one Liberty Bowl win.
We all know what happened to Freeze, Spurrier, and Les. Seems like beating Saban is the kiss of death in the SEC.

And Iowa beating saban in 2005 was the ultimate kiss of death to the sec

I mean it is kind of true.
Meyer ran off. Miles got run out. Richt got run out. Spurrier retired. Then we replaced with coordinators and new head coaches because, well. No one wants to go up against Bama yearly.
I mean LSU, Florida, Georgia ALL went for hires that some would say seemed less than spectacular or at least risky. There is a reason three of the easiest schools to win at couldn't land a major player to me. You would think one of the three schools could have landed a stronger hire(not saying any of them are bad hires, just not blockbuster hires).
