Since he became the AU HC in 2013, auburn has only had 4- 1st round draft picks (including 1st round bust and drug smuggler Greg Robinson)

Kinda makes you wonder how the GOAT lost to him 3 times, doesn't it?

JHS voodoo and gimmicks

Saban likes to keep a midget on staff. He probably feels bad for the poor Auburn fans and likes to toss them a bone here and there.

Malzahn had 4 in 8 years (.5/year)
Chizick had 2 in 4 years (.5/year)
Tubberville had 6 in 10 years (.6/year)
Bowden had 4 in 6 years (.667/year)
Looking at the trend, I would say the damage he caused was minimal to nothing

Is it worse than the roster he inherited from Gene?

4 of those were in the 2005 Draft. 3 players in the Top 10.

Way worse....his last decent Crootin class was in 2016

And 4 of those was in one year. But Tubs had several players that played in the NFL for a long time and Pro Bowls. Tubs was a lazy recruiter, but he developed guys. If he would’ve recruited hard, he could’ve been great.

Because he's the Houston Nutt of Auburn football.

Yeah, people seem to forget that Gus took a 3-9 team that was winless in the SEC and had them one goal line stand away from winning the national title.
Gus recruited well enough but he got stale and wore out his welcome. Everybody has itchy trigger fingers these days so long as Saban is steamrolling everyone and everything.
At any rate, it's Harsin's problem now.

The real damage Gus left is on the lines and it was visible last Saturday vs GaState. It took him a few years but the finally brought in a really good RB (Tank) and Kodi Burns recruited WR's well and Steele & his bunch did well recruiting defense.
If Auburn turns in back to back classes ranked in the 20's these new coaches will have a steep hill to climb to get even with their main rivals in talent.
