They were actually talking about this on sports radio in Jacksonville yesterday. I have no idea but the radio guy said he had a picture of a guy catching a pass and the end zones were basically empty.
I don't know what point in the day it was though.

See, tOSU this year. already done

Yep, you've got us. It's all a lie made up to screw with all our rivals' heads.
In this picture, the photographer made everyone slide close together to give the illusion there were more people there. In reality, the stadium half you don't see is empty.
It really doesn't matter. Bama fans just like their football and the spring game is the last one for 4 long months.

I was there and I would say 90k is about right. upper north endzone was about 80-90% full and every other upper section was 90-100% full and there were a lot of people standing on the field level. I left at halftime b/c it was boring.

Not that it should matter to any other fanbase - but Bama had +/- twice what any other SEC school had show up for a scrimmage.
Coach Saban has laid this responsibility onto the fanbase to pack out the stadium on A-Day. We are just doing our fricking job, and toting our share of the load for UA.

Crowd outside Bryant Denny for the Coach Saban statue unveiling. It was also carried live inside on the jumbotrons.

100% If I could have been there I would have, for exactly the reasons he just stated. If Nick says it helps in recruiting, then by God im gonna do my part.

That was late in the game, after halftime ppl started steadily leaving. Like someone said earlier, by the end of the game, there were about 8,500 left.

Why not? According to our rivals, ain't nothing else to do in Alabama except sit around and twiddle our thumbs. Might as well go.
Coach Saban likes it. The recruits rave about it. And, we get our practice put on TV because we are dumbasses that show up for a practice that doesn't mean anything.

I don't care how many of you go to the game. I just find it weird that some having the reasoning that "it was our job because Coach Saban said so."
I get being a Bama fan and liking your coach, but some of you guys/gals go off the deep end with the Saban deification.

I'd imagine most went because it was a nice day and free. Nothing wrong with any of that.

I am serious as a fricking heart attack!
If Coach Saban says that the presence of my family is needed on A-Day, then I will bust my arse to get my family of four into that stadium.
If Coach Saban says that the BDS crowd has an impact on gameday - I then I will scream my head off while I'm at every Bama game.
There are only a few opportunities a year that a fan can show their support to the players and coaching staff. And fricking being "in attendance" is one of them. (Of course those thousands I shell out to Tide Pride helps too!)

He may be referring to the pic in Sports Illustrated this week. We were in that endzone. He didn't actually catch the ball and the pic was taken with less than 1 minute left in the game.
There were no passes caught in the endzones. TDs on fumble return, Trent from about 20 yds out, and Hart from 17 out.

last spring game I went to was the Mike Price game
I stayed a quarter, watched our QB's throw the ball all over the field, got rained on and left.

I'm a supporter of many things that I care about.
When my daughter's HS coach needs a parent to haul kids to out of town games, I'm there with the SUV everytime, ready to go.
When my kids school needs new uniforms for athletics, I throw my $$ in the hat.
When my son's Boy Scout troop needs volunteer's for weekend campouts - I'm there pitchin tents and cookin weenies.
When the church youth group needs $$ to send kids on mission trips this summer, I throw $$ in the plate.
When my old fraternity needs donations to build a new house on campus, I send my $$.
When Saban asks the UA fanbase to do their part to show support for the players and the university, I'm throw my $$ in the hat and I make the effort to be present to show my support.
There are many folks that do the exact same thing that I choose to do - no difference really.
