He's talking about the area around the LSU campus.

I don't recall a hood around UK's campus. Don't think the UofA has any around them either.
Now, in the 80's and 90's, there were hoods all around LSU. Cross Park Blvd from the Garden District and go one block... that is da hood.
How do you grow up in BR and end up going to Kentucky?? UK was the furthest I could get away from BR and still be in the SEC.

CatHog...no hood around the campus...in fact, I live next to campus.
Lexington has a small part of a rough area (Georgetown Street)...

I'd put Cardinal Valley in the "rough area" category too. It's not around campus, but whatever.

All except for Vanderbilt.
Vandy is actually in the high rent district.

Yeah. It's still pretty ghetto though. I had a guy try to sell me weed out of his cargo pocket in the middle of the day out there. He was packin' heat too.
There are some shady areas not far from Eastern State too. Look alot like Georgetown Street.

Carolina doesn't border the hood, but if you take a wrong turn in Five Points, you could end up in it pretty quickly. MLK Park, Gonzalez Gardens, etc. All not that far away from campus.

My college roommate just got transferred to Bentonville from Dallas with a job promotion. He said its like a different world up in NW Arkansas. Said there is NO ghettos or rough neighborhoods in ANY of the cities in the area (Rogers, Bentonville, Springdale, Fayetteville) He went house shopping and said he was stunned by what all the Realtors showed him about the area.

Truth. I never knew the area was called that till recently. I have some buddies that live over there. They're the only students besides a house of Sigma Chis down the street. It's a shitty area, but I wouldn't say it's unsafe, relatively. If you mind your own business no one will do or say anything to you. UK really doesn't have any unsafe areas surrounding it because it's all students.
