Are you talking about stun gun? I have the taser that shoots 2 prongs 15 feet, then sends 50,000 volts for 30 seconds.

I don't remember that one. I am from North BR, so I am not as scared as some of you sheltered kids. Just kidding. The McKinley area is a very bad area. Since they have built all of the student housing in that area, it has gotten somewhat better. IMO, there really aren't too many places in BR I would walk alone in at night.

i agree with you...baton rouge is a cesspool of crime....drugs, murder and thuggery....about as bad as n.o. east

actually id say baton rouge has gotten worse than new orleans in the last few years. i blame the cops more worried about giving out mips and dwi's than actually doing hard police work.

the crime stats for baton rouge are fricking pathetic. new orleans is slightly worse but they have more entertaining things in the city all year round than baton rouge.

Last time I went to Bryant-Denny (2002) It seemed like as soon as you get off campus it was all hood.

It's more like a stun gun than a taser, but it takes them down the same as a taser would.

You punch.... I am looking for a pic, but all I see are ones people made at home.

There's a lot of shady stuff north of LSU's campus. There's always hobos around the CVS and Circle K that panhandle, and the band field is only a fence away from a set of really shady apartments. Last year we heard gunshots from the field and had police on horses stand by for a practice or two after. Plus, I see people in pimped-out cars and girls that look like they're in their late teens with 2 or 3 kids go by the fence all the time.

BR keeps it classy.

Edit: Not to mention the married student apartment that had the robbery-turned-double homicide a few years back, and the robberies on the first floor of my own complex across the street from the band field.

I have not heard anything bad about that part of Aster, at least not recently.

that osu thread got me wondering.....

is lsu the only one?

LSU would be one of the ones that don't.

Lsu fans shouldn't talk about the ghetto bordering anyones campus

Last time I checked, the nearest "ghetto" areas to LSU were a couple of miles or more away.

There is nothing "ghetto" bordering the LSU campus. At all. There's the shopping/condo area to the north, the Mississippi River to the west, the golf course to the SW, $500,000+ houses to the SE, the lakes to the east, and million dollar houses across the lakes.

No ghetto physically touches the LSU campus. Period.

Satellite Map-LSU campus and surrounds

Go ahead, look at the map, and point to where the ghetto touches the LSU campus. I dare you.
