And Auburn during the same time period was 225-91 with 4 super regional appearances and a CWS berth. We also had a CWS berth in 1994. College baseball was fantastic in this state during the 90s.

It really was. The entire league was great. Tennessee was very good during the time period too. Delmonico used to have 2-3 South Florida/Latin American kids on his roster every year who were eventual 1st or 2nd round picks (Yan Gomes, JP Arencibia, Julio Borbon, etc)

1994 : 52-14 (24-5), SEC Champs, SECT Champs (RA Dickey, Todd Helton)
1995 : 54-16 (22-8), SEC Champs, SECT Champs (RA Dickey, Todd Helton)
1996 : 43-20 (18-12)
1997 : 42-19 (17-13)

I used to love college baseball (all baseball) back then. I would have been fat and worthless and never played any actual sports if 11 year old me had all these games on TV like they do now.

1995-1999, I was growing up as a little baseball playing kid and Alabama was having it's best 5 year baseball run ever. LSU and Miami had to ruin it. Bastards.

1995-1999
247-90 (73.3%) overall
100-47 (68.0%) SEC
3 50+ win seasons
5 40+ win seasons
4 SECT Championships
1 SEC Regular Season Championship
5 NCAA Tournaments
3 CWS
2 CWS Top 3 finishes
1 CWS Runner-up

Pretty cool stats there. Bama under Wells was no joke. I was curious as to how that five year stretch compared to Vanderbilt's best five years, which is undoubtedly 2011-2015. The numbers are very similar.

2011-2015
245-94 (72.3%) overall
101-48 (67.9%) SEC
4 50+ win seasons
4 40+ win seasons
4 SECT Championship game appearances
0 SECT Championships
2 SEC Regular Season Championships
5 NCAA Tournaments
3 CWS
1 National Championship
1 CWS Runner-up

Interesting - I would have figured Vandy's run was better, but now looking at it season by season it is hard to be better than 50+ wins 60% of the time.

However, Vandy finished the job one of their seasons. Alabama just couldn't quite do it in their opportunities.

Conference tournaments for baseball & basketball don't matter all that much.

Yea, pretty much not at all, except for one bid leagues.
Eta: though it half seems the SEC is trying to become one in basketball.

The SECT wasn't always in Hoover. I remember it being played in the Superdome in the early 90's.

LSU and Alabama have the most.

But that's neither here nor there for Alabama now. Mitch Gaspard ain't Wells or Schollenberger

We have historically underachieved like a motherfricker, mainly because our progress was diminished by the ups who were on the fricking longhorn payroll. They didn't even try to hide it. I am optimistic. At least SEC officials try to appear impartial.

I've concluded UGA's athletic department is a complete and utter failure, even comparative to Auburn's. They have the competitive advantage in all facets compared to almost every SEC school, yet they seem to chronically underachieve in pretty much everything.

The SEC Tournament is meaningless if you are really good enough to win it honestly between UGA and USC there is 1 SEC title but 3 national titles and 17 CWS
