I ask this because LSU's Golden Band from Tigerland will be marching in this year's Saint Patrick's Day Parade in Dublin, Ireland. It will be the first time the LSU band has performed outside the US. Although the LSU Cheerleaders toured China last year.

quote:

The LSU Tiger Marching Band is leaving Friday for Ireland — and the upwards of $700,000 trip won’t cost them a dime.

The band announced it would be taking all 325 members to Dublin to march in the city’s annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade.

The instruments, including the band’s 30-plus tubas from the 1940s, were shipped to Dublin three weeks ago.

The band will march in the St. Patrick’s Day Parade at noon, Dublin time, on March 17, playing the Tigers’ fight songs. A series of staggered city and country tours have been planned for band members, and all will sit down to a traditional Irish meal at Taylor’s Three Rock restaurant.

I went to Ireland with the AUMB in 2008. Tennessee also did the St. Patty's parade in either 2007 or 2009.

The AU Symphonic Band went to China a year or two ago.

Ireland during St. Paddy's week with hundreds of your college buds was definitely a memory for a lifetime! Oh, and what I remember of the parade was fun too!

Auburn did that in 2003 I believe, may have been 2002

ETA: And by 2002 or 2003 I mean 2008 apparently

The Aggie Band performs outside of The Republic each time it travels to a conference game.
