god your unbelievably stupid. This is what i mean and You are proving my point. Texas, georgia, alabama, ohio state, usc, florida, miami, florida state all have equal or better talent then lsu. But just anyone can just come in and win a NC right? He has plenty of players that have steped up that had limited offers or were not ranked very high. He gets the most out of his players.
Why, when you have so much fail?

Les Miles looks like a mentally challenged person who happens to coach an elite SEC team. Nothing is elite nor special about Les Miles. Houston Nutt could win a championship with LSU so you do not have to be a world beater coach to be successful at LSU.
Archer, Hallman, and DiNardo disagree.

Nothing to do w/ Miles.
Now, do you want to list the underachievers here or not. There is a long list. Some currently playing.
You cannot say Miles consistently develops players at/above their ceiling unless you are ignorant and/or a homer.
there is truth to your argument, but there is some to mine as well. No coach is perfect, JR was considered the best Qb coming out that year. Claiborne, logan, simon, matheiu, taylor, lafell, brockers, DLO peterson, ridley, quin johnson, tyson jackson, hester, blackwell, Baker, hatcher, nevis have played and developed at least equal to or better coming out of high school and turned out to be really good players regardless.
but there have been some that have underacheived, woods, davenport, francios, ferguson, McCray that have underperformed.

I have given up trying to convince the rest of the wolrd just how good CLM is. When it's all said and done I guarantee you I wouldn't trade his record for anyone elses. I bet there will be several SEC programs that would though.
Just the the chips fall where they may, it will all come out in the end.

Doesn't matter, this year will prove people like you wrong. ANd then you will have to recognize that he is an elite coach (which many have already figured out).
have a nice day. I think i am going to have sex now.

We don't have to convince anyone... results happen on the field.
I do know that several head coaches at LSU failed miserably towards the end of their tenure. I forgot about Stovall, but that was quite a few many years ago.
Archer had loads of talent in 87, and we know what happened to the program shortly after (I don't need to mention Hallman). And DiNardo did win a few big games, but the guy was clueless in the end and he lost the team.

LSU was vastly superior talent wise to us last year as they are this year, the only reason we won the game was due to the creativity and coaching abilities of Bobby Petrino. If we still had Nutt last year than we lose that game.
The talent levels and players abilities of LSU was/ is greatly superior to Oregon and that showed last night. How does coaching have anything to do with making plays?

Miles would be a winner at ARkansas State.

The more times people think he is just a lucky, bumbling idiot, the more time LSU gets overlooked, even to the slightest degree, by our opponents. Thats A-ok by me. Less is a great motivator and an amazing recruiter, I couldn't give 2 shits about what other people say

if the tables were turned and miles had come to lsu in 1999, then left for the pros and ended up at alabama in 2007 and saban had gone from msu to lsu in 2005, how would lsu and alabama look now?
i realize this question discounts the years that these two coaches had between 1999 and '07, but think it's interesting to think about.

The message is starting to get out there:
quote:
Seriously, LSU’s Miles can coach
He talks funny. He wears his hat funny. He sings “Calling Baton Rouge” in a funny way. He eats grass, of course, and that’s funny. He calls funny plays at the funniest times and even wins games with great comedic timing.
Yes, the Mad Hatter is a big joke, until you have to play his LSU Tigers.
“He does a great job at that in practice week and preparation.”
None of this is going to change Miles national – or even local – reputation. The man is funny. There’s no denying it. You just never know what he’s going to say or how he’s going to say it or, it turns out, even how he’s going to spell it.
It makes him so easy to underestimate.
Yet here he was in Cowboys Stadium, another big game, another big win, another supposed genius coach humbly crossing the field to shake his hand in concession.
No, Les Miles doesn’t talk much of a game. He just wins them.

So now that LSU won, Oregon is shitty? Christ some of you are ridiculous.
They are shitty. But, let's face it. Oregon is no where near physical enough to play SEC teams on a regular basis.

in the last 30 years of sec fb, no coach has a BETTER resume than miles except for spurrier in the 90's and maybe fulmer's 6 best years. that's pretty impressive.
no, teams can not win just based on the name on the helmet or the talent on the roster. incredibly ignorant to think anyone can just waltz into bama or lsu and win.
plus, people want the sec to be the toughest league yet, a bumbling idiot can keep lsu in the elite of the conference by just having a loaded roster. the two are mutually exclusive
dp40, so an nfl team used a #1 pick on a qb who wasn't that great in college? he just had a great supporting cast? i hope you realize how naive that is. mauck and flynn were better in college? do you remember the end of the '06 season? jamarcus was lighting it up.
yes, miles hired crowton. gave him a chance and then corrected the problem. where's the credit? miles had to go with malleveto because of pellini's late departure. as soon as he could fix it with chavis, he did. where's the credit?
