Three years? Four years tops?

I don't care who you are or where you've been, those kinds of comments about your players are out of line.

Besides, this UGA team has talent. Not tournament talent, but better than what they've been. Mark Fox would have this group at 4-5 or wherever he always had them instead of 1-9.

The top guard in high school is commiting to UGA tomorrow. He’ll get some time.

I think failing with a one-and-done will only speed up the clock on Crean's death

It's too early to speculate but it's not looking so great so far. I'm not seeing any real progression with this team and that's not a good sign

Not seeing progression halfway through his first season with none of “his players”. I’m shocked I tell you

I understand it's his first year but those players became "his players" the second he accepted the job.

What I mean by no progression is the team should be showing some kind of improvement as the season wears on if they are being coached up and that does not seem to be happening.

That doesn't necessarily mean he won't be successful eventually, it just doesn't look very good so far.

Fox got like 9 years but you think a far better coach in crean is getting 3? Everyone knows what crean was walking into. His first 2 marquette teams were mediocre, then tourney teams. His first 3 indiana teams were bad, then 2 straight sweet 16s. He will get his time just like he should.

Not really. He said what any UGA fan knows to be true and has thought he just said them out loud. He also didn't call anyone out by name, and I mean was he wrong? What specifically do you disagree with?

LOL. So you'd trade UF's starting 5 for ours? Yeah, I'm sure. We have claxton who is a legit SEC basketball player. Ogbedie is servicable. What else? Hammonds was a 4* recruit that hasn't shown it but in glimpses. Nobody else on the team would even come CLOSE to starting at ~12 of the other SEC teams.

Fox was horrendous but he had Yante Maten, JJ Frazier, Travis Leslie, Trey Thompkins, etc on his teams. Our talent right now is absolutely not "better than its been".

Fox was garbage. The only possible reason fox may have this team 1, MAYBE 2, wins better is because his entire system was built on slowing the game to a plodding crawl to make up for its woeful lack of offense and winning games 58-54. Crean is at least installing his system it just doens't have the right players.

It's very similar to kirby. When kirby got here in '16 it was the least talented team he'd ever been associated with, there is simply no way to deny that. He still ran his system though (power run most of the game) even though it was maddening to watch and we went 8-5 with some embarrasing losses. But it paid off, as will crean.

It's amazing that some of you adults can't take a step back and realize this is a proven, winning basketball coach not even though his FIRST SEASON at a mediocre program with abysmal talent, and are already asking when he'll be canned. At least let the guy get ANY of his own players in. Good Lord.

so you blame kirby for tyler catalina being an utter disgrace at left tackle? It's amazing how much better we look when he gets the people he hand picked to run his system..

The back stretch of kirby's first year included:

-30 point loss to ole miss
-coaching disaster loss to ut
-loss to VANDERBILT
-loss to uf where we didn't look competent in any phase
-3 point win over a 6 loss uk at the final second
-loss to tech

amazing we gave the guy a 2nd year

His presser yesterday made him look like an a-hole.

"It's my fault I didn't get rid of some of these players" lol a-hole.

The comments weren’t the most sensitive in the world but he wasn’t wrong. This team is mentally weak and so far up their own arse about turning the ball over that they have the yips. At worst, this squad continues down the road it’s already on and some guys transfer out or quit and the rebuild truly begins next season. At best, this pisses the team off and they play pissed down the stretch and try to win for some pride.

Not sure I would’ve said it in public and maybe Crean regrets it but then he’s the expert here not any of us.

He wins the SEC next year with the #1 player so that buys some time.

I meant "better than what it's been" as "better than 1-9," not "better than previous years"

Claxton has pro talent. Any SEC team would take Hammonds in a heartbeat. Ogbeide is a very good college center. Crump is a very good role player even if he's inconsistent as frick too.

Crean is recruiting well, no doubt. I don't think he's an elite coach, though, albeit a pretty good one, even if he did make the Final Four with Dwayne fricking Wade (but never otherwise got out of the first weekend at Marquette), and I would be very worried about his attitude so far at UGA. He couldn't handle the pressure at IU and he hasn't done a great job of handling the minimal pressure at UGA so far.

He is about to sign #1 player in the country. We weill give him some time.

How about UF? Your coach has been there for a few years now with nowhere near the success of Donovan.

White will get a few more years even if some Gator fans don't want him to

He hasn't trashed his players in pressers, though
