Fla will still win and compete for SEC titles but they wont be the force they are now with Tebow. They will lose 2 to 4 most every year without Tebow.
How can you say that? UF has consistently lost to one SEC west opponent every year. But it is hard to lose 2 in conference and still compete for the title.
Also it is my contention that the SECCG will be a play-in game for the national title for at least a few more years. UF, LSU, and Bama have recruited way too well for that not to be the case.
Edit for Carlos* What Meyer has done since he has been at florida is not find QB's for his system, but develop his system for his QBs. It is how we won with Chris Leak at the helm.

I don't understand how everyone thinks they'll drop off just because Tebow leaves. He'll find a quarterback who can fit his system. He can recruit his pick of the litter in the state of Florida. They'll be fine.
Dont get me wrong they will do well but not a automatic shoe in for the BCS like they are with Tebow. With no Tebow, they wouldnt have won the title Tebows first year.
Its a tough system to stop with someone like Tebow but SEC defenses will stop most QB's from gaining 5 yards a carry like they did when it was with Leak. Tebow made the difference that year.
As I said, they will do well but they will be beatable then. Right now, its just a race to see who losing to them in Atlanta.

Meyer is quoted as saying he'd love to coach at Notre Dame some day. I would expect if Weiss craps out again this year, and I see no reason why he wouldn't, Meyer's gone.

That's mostly because they slow the game down and play ball control. Meyer has not adapted well to that style of play, he is not used to relying upon his defense to force the other offense off the field. Meyer likes coming out hitting hard and forcing the other team to get aggressive this allows his defense to play more nickel and pass rush more. That is Meyer's weak point.
I believe Meyer will be win without Tebow, Tebow as a QB is way overrated. His draft stock is not even that high due to the fact he just doesn't fit the pocket passer style of play, he is a full back that can throw with decent accuracy.

Name another QB that will drive for 5 yards right up the gut, forcing his will on the other team?
With the spread that he runs, its very key and important. Leak couldnt do it. In fact I dont of any QB that could shove it down an SEC defense the way Tebow does.
As far as his NFL stock, who cares? Snead is the best actual throwing QB in the SEC right now anyway. But what Tebow brings to the spread, I have never seen in 40 yrs of watching football.
Your right, he is a fullback but he is a fullback that CAN throw the football. THATS where he beats you.
Some QB's can run but its fast and outside, not straight down your throat running over DT the likes of Glenn Dorsey. That just doesnt happen normally.
Its Florida's to lose this year. They may stumble but it will be because they screwed up like against Ole Miss last year. Not because someone beat them.

Both our championship years we lost because of turnovers. Against OM it was a fluke that 2 handoffs to start the second half were both dropped by the RBs before they were touched. Against AU a terrible call on what should have been an incomplete pass at the AU goal line was the difference maker. The ball control you mention comes from being able to run the ball which many teams have not been able to do against the gators.

Does he have a run that is similar to Steve Spurrier's run in the 90s?
Maybe. Last year was like a lot of years in the 90's. UF was dominant and beat Bama in the SECCG. The mid 90's were a lot of UF beating up on Bama and everyone else was most often not in the picture. LSU was aweful and AU was inconsistant (and on probation). UGA and UT never had a chance against Spurrier for a good part of the decade.
I think Meyer is a better coach than Saban and Bama will not beat them while he is there. LSU is the other team that can dethrone UF right now, but it is not going to be easy and I think this year will tell a lot about just how good Miles is as a coach with Bama and UF at the same talent level as LSU now.
