It's so competitive now with the resurgence of the big 10. I think it's more fair to ask how long until he makes the playoffs. Year 3.

Thanks.

Florida football is fun again. Hopefully we rematch in Atlanta soon. I'd say 3 years before Mac is in the NC

One to two years after Saban retires and he comes to Alabama.

That's reasonable, barring Saban going back to the NFL, he should be finishing up about that time and McElwain will be in ascendancy.

Why would he leave the best job the conference has to take the 3rd at best in the same conference

Uh, a little early to make this call. Love Mac but he hasn't done anything yet. He is in a place to be successful and he has a good offensive mind, also a plus for that program.

Because you haven't been the best job in the conference since we forced Urban to quit from an anxiety attack.

Yes, all of this. The rant has a very short memory about coaching success.

Okay, I started a little friendly jabbing and you come back with that. This is just cruel.

Did you see what happened to Pat Haden yesterday? Battle is not taking that chance.

I always say to wait until a coach wins when he is expected to win. Lots of coaches have had success while an underdog.

Bama fans are supposed to tell you gators that all he's done so far is win with Muschamp's players.

We get it, you guys are trying to convince yourselves that you finally played a team with a pulse. Grats.

Yeah we have experienced that first hand on a couple of occasions. I won't take anything away from the guy. He's got a great pedigree and has done a phenomenal job so far this year. But one year doesn't make a coach.

Yet, you and everyone else in this thread penciled Florida in as a 7 win team at best this year, and McElwain has put that to bed. With what we've seen from him so far, I think we can assume he'll have the Gators seriously competing by year 3 if they continue on their present trajectory.
