Ok, in a nutshell they have a very effective system in place of some politicians (likely), and old lawyers that got filthy rich off tobacco and asbestos suits in the 1990s. They made millions and millions. But this really isn't about huge amounts of money, we're talking about kids and families. This is about the "network", or system..whatever you want to call it, and the bold willingness to organize and work with total exemption and disregard of the rules. They're basically showing the landscape what they're doing, while waving the finger in the face of the NCAA-those guys are amateurs by comparison. They probably find them quite entertaining. And how much does the NCAA want to sanction anyone, anyway. It's ultimately going to be bad for the bottom line of college athletics.

At any rate, I think Freeze is really nothing more than a puppet in all this. I'm not saying this practice is exclusive to Ole Miss, by any means, but they are probably the best at it, all things considered.

Because Ole Miss is a cool team and doesn't afraid of anything.

This is the level OM should've always been at. Col Reb and Confederate flags were holding them back. Plus The Blind Side did a lot for visibility.

Well I'll be damned. An intelligent Alabama fan.

For what it's worth, our power brokers are not known as the network. We are The Syndicate.

Did you not watch "The Blind Side"? Many people thought it was a heartwarming story. I knew it was obvious cheating. What Christian mother would let her stepson sign with Orgeron?

We're doing the reverse Oregon/Oklahoma State system: building a program with a shot of cash directly to the bloodstream. We can only hope now that one of our mediocre alums can invent something dumb but wildly popular so the facilities can follow suit. I'm planning on being that mediocre savior with my selfie stick/yeti cooler combo apparatus.

Paying players. And people are getting pissed because their boosters are too poor to match ours.

In the case of Greg Little, it's the willingness to work with handlers that Ole Miss has that other schools don't.

Your school has handlers as well, but they're currently busy baby sitting Sumlin at the bar.

I guess. I'm not hating on Ole Miss. I'm just saying when Greg Little's "mentor" came in to the picture and Ole Miss became a player. Ole Miss is doing what it takes to win, and they have to in order to overcome their disadvantages. Ole Miss hasn't won anything of significance since they let black players on the team. They are in the poorest state in the Union, they have a small population base that's notoriously racist, non existent educational prestige, subpar facilities, and in general a lot less money than their competition. To pull in Greg Little, a guy that could have gone anywhere and has zero ties to the Black Bears, is just another example of Ole Miss doing what it takes. And it's not just a Hugh Freeze thing. Floyd Raven was a good player for A&M and was recruited before Hugh Freeze was on staff, and I won't speak disparaging words about his family in a venue like this, but there is a reason his mother forged his letter of intent and faxed it in behind his back. Look, I have no problem with boosters paying players and skirting the rules. Every place does it. Alabama's mall memorabilia dealer, Colt McCoy's wife spilling the beans on national radio on what happens in Austin, and god only knows what happens in places like Columbus. Hell. Manziel was caught red handed selling his autograph, and the same eBay dealers selling them had top players from a ton of big schools. I've heard stories about how A&M signed DeAndre Jordan that I totally believe and the average Aggie could give frick all about basketball. Ole Miss winning is more agreeable to me than LSU, Alabama, Arkansas or Auburn... So by all means keep it up. It's seriously not a big deal.

When was A&M's last recognized national title? National title, not Big 12 title. Big 12 titles are not legitimate in the discussion of significance.

I rest my case, your honor. No further witnesses. The defense rests.

Don't know if I've ever seen the DeAndre Jordan story in print. I heard it from some people that were in the know and had no reason to lie.

As far as the other Google, "Colt McCoy's wife calls radio". It's well worth the listen. Some girl that thinks she's being nice and insightful and every current and former player was sweating bullets listening to it.
