I agree with you.
The politics bit is what is most bothersome...that there's so much stress put on something that makes up a group equaling just over 1% of the population (trans), disecting that (only MtF), & then actually talking about a small subsection of that amount (athletes).

Some have argued that even that is an unfair advantage.
I don't see how it's anymore unfair than that article about the elementary school bb player that was over 6' tall. Should he be prevented due to being ~2X the height of everybody else?

Yeah, I mean:
I share safety concerns. I also don’t dismiss the concerns of young women as to what happens in locker rooms before/after events.
With that said:
We are talking about a marginalized population here. I don’t see evidence of widespread bad faith in trying to gain advantage in sports. Just an already “othered” group trying to make the best of their lives. I really do not like being in the way of that.
Years past we’ve had similar debates about gays in the military, locker rooms, gay marriage. Similar. Not the same. But close enough I’m aware of decades of making life harder on people than it needed to be. Just personally, I don’t like being part of that.
I don’t have final answers. But I think we can handle these matters more locally and responsibly more case by case than blanket prohibitions.
And I will add I’m extremely creeped out with the gender check way this often goes for “tough” looking girls with short hair.

1. It's about principles and truth. When you can convince people to abandon truth, all elements of thought are easier to control. It's insane that such s large percentage of the population believes that a man can be a woman and visa versa. This must be fought against.
2. Many people don't want to be represented in government by anyone who believes such nonsense. It shows they can't be trusted to make rational decisions.

I agree with basically all this.
A pushback would be if somebody is trans, they AREN’T interested in seeing somebody nude & “getting turned on”.
This is another bothersome part. We’ve already seen how states vary on abortion/women’s health, so would this be another issue?

So yeah, that kind of defines the Democratic Party in the Austin thinking

That’s why this kind of debate needs people directly involved (trans) to make the decision.

I think everyone is thinking about this the wrong way.
There mere existence of "women's sports" is woke nonsense.
Private people and private organizations can do whatever they want with their money. However, when my tax money is involved, we have to use common sense & fiscal responsibility. We shouldn't have a second choir for people who can't sing. We shouldn't have a second orchestra for people who have no musical talent. We should have a second track team for people who are slow. We shouldn't have a second swim team for people who don't swim very fast.
Public schools and universities don't need men's & women's teams. Let's just have a team. If a woman can qualify for it - great! However, we need to stop pretending that women's sports (as a sepratae entity) matter. The essence of sports is physical inequality.

1. This never happens, so why talk about it.
2. It is very rare this happens, so why talk about it?
3. It is good that it happens, and to deny the men access now would effect thousands.
It is the same political strategy the left uses for multiple issues. Illegal immigration is a perfect example.
Anyone pushing for male access to women’s sports should answer one question before beginning any debate….
Is it ok if all female athletic records are taken by biological men?
Flo Jo’s records set in the 80s are beaten every year by 100s of high school boys.
Be honest up front, you are ok with or not, before making your argument.

I love when someone will ask one of those mental cases something like, "Are you a pink elephant?"
They'll stand there confused.
"Why aren't you a pink elephant?"
They stomp away.

Because women will eventually quit sporting and go back to the kitchen/laundry room where they belong.

This is absolutely 100% correct...its the right thing to do but it came about because folks woke up to the fact that it was wrong for boys to have sports but not girls. Both enjoy the same benefits....

The truth is that sex is a biological certainty....it is undeniable and it can be verified through scientific testing. The truth is also that gender is not a biological certainty it is a societal construct and can not be tested for. The VAST majority of people mistakenly think the two terms are synonymous...and when people are convinced to abandon truth all elements are easier to control. When we deny that gender is not a biological fact we are abandoning truth in exactly the same way an idiot who claims a biological male can give birth to a child has abandoned the truth....thankfully there is no record of anyone making the latter claim, there will be some come along here in a minute on this forum and make the former claim....

This isn't about right or wrong.
A high school should just have A track team. Boys, girls, trans, furry pansexuals.....everyone can tryout. The fastest people make the team. We don't need to have a 2nd team for slower people, and then argue over different ideas about what constitutes a gender for who makes the slower team.

So your completely ignoring Lia Thomas?
And "her" teamates that did interviews talking about "her" walking around naked and seeing "her" dong?
Help me understand your position here, because what you say isn't happening, has in fact, already happened.

Race is the same thing, a social construct meant to divide people.
