Oregon has played a tough schedule to date. If you can't see that, you never will. You can act like Arkansas would be bowl eligible in the Pac but a team like Washington State went to Auburn and gave them a game. We don't have an easy out either week in and week out. Oregon has played Stanford that was giving up 250 yards a game and Utah that was averaging close to 5 sacks a game the last two weeks. We are fricking beat up to.

We have had a starting WR, 8 OL, all three TEs, DE, our stud CB and several other injuries.

You are biased.

I can't really disagree with much of this. Like us, you played a solid OOC game. And like us, you played your weak arse FCS opponent. Your schedule is good, but I'm not buying UCLA at #11...they've squeaked by some shitty teams. And no, I don't at all think Arkansas would be bowl eligible in the Pac. But I do think that MSU, Alabama, Auburn, LSU, and Georgia would cumulatively finish ahead of any top five the Pac has.

The committee blows really, really, really bad. Make no mistake about it.

However, the only thing worse is fans complaining about it. This team sucks, that team sucks etc.

A playoff simply does not work with how CFB is currently constructed, and even worse with the way the teams are selected. This whole thing has been a giant clusterfrick.

it's a regional thing man. these rankings are not designed to rank teams in descending order, best to worse. one would naturally think that would happen but nope. these rankings are designed to produce the OK to put 4 teams in different regions in the playoffs. big event, TV, big money thing. because southern football is so strong and the eastern seaboard teams suck, it means the have to have a coupla west coast teams close so one of them will make the playoff. believe me ohio state, due to their regions high population is still around. but if FSU and an SEC school are in, they have to have two teams from big populous areas. west coast, ohio, tejas. if FSU loses you can book it that sends ohio state to the "top" 4.

it's why we need to have an 8 team playoff.

Bama is #5 and has a three loss LSU on their record as their best win. At the end of the day, the SEC is getting it's due.

BAMA may be #5 but they'd be favored by 3+ on a neutral field against #1-4. #1 is an 8.5 underdog this week. And I get that the line is designed to get equal bets but reality is that BAMA is pretty heavy favorite over #1. #1 team should be favored over everyone they play, amirite?

I can live with MSU and Bama. However, Auburn, LSU and Georgia have fatal flaws. Those three would contend in the pac like they are in the SEC but there is no way you can convince me that they would go through the conference and be the champions with any kind of regularity.

ETA: I think I misinterpreted what you said. Yes, I think that the top 5 vs the top 5 of the pac would definitely go the SEC's way.

"When is Bama gonna get some damn respect? When they kill somebody on the field?"

ASU has shown it was an anomaly and the committee seems to be factoring injuries heavily.

Had that been the case last season, we would have been #1.

You had a fricking disaster of a season injury wise. I think this goes without saying but when comparing one loss teams, the teams that had a loss with major injuries are getting the benefit of the doubt. I would love to get AZ again in the Pac ship.

If you can't score more than 10 in regulation, you shouldn't be in the championship, amirite?

Around and around we go...

I get your point, but Alabama and other teams, SEC or not, have proven that they can be in 10-13 type games and still destroy "good defenses" from outside the South.

It goes both ways I guess(Oregon holding Auburn to a pretty low score), but IMO the first scenario is much more common.

At the end of the day you look at:

1) number of losses

2) strength of wins - SOS

3) context of losses

4) window dressing

Obviously there are caveats like FSU being #2 because #2 is so poor. ASU and Oregon are getting the benefit of the doubt with quality wins and loss that came with major injuries.

The good news is ASU, Oregon or neither will be in and not both. SEC has a chance to get two in.

I am really not sure why there is a complaint because of the pecking order when Bama ends with two top 10 games.

Quite frankly, ASU is behind several 1 loss teams due to losing by a bunch, so they aren't being rewarded.

You can take all that shite and put it in your hip pocket, pal. Any/Every 1-loss SEC team will be in the playoffs, PERIOD....and should be.

You just repeated what I said. Pac is in position to put one in, SEC 2 and Big 2. So, what the frick is the problem?
