Very important! UGA's S&C got a major upgrade. The staff we have now seems to have done a much better job than our previous staff. Players look bigger, stronger, and have better stamina. We also don't get injured as often.

Scott Sinclair, who is the head S&C coach, main job seems to be holding Smart's britches.

Often the S and C coach is the GetBack Coach on game day

The S&C coach is the second most important coach on any NCAA football coaching staff. As numerous other posters have already mentioned the S&C coach spends the most time with the players than any other coach on the staff. I was really scared Kirby would steal Coach Cochran to UGA. Very glad he stayed!

Extremely important. Balis at Notre Dame is really good. When he left State a few years ago, there was a noticeable drop off.

Could they have done it with a different S&C coach?

Probably. Cochran is not a brilliant strength coach...but he is great at bringing energy and communicating the program message every day.

To programs like North Dakota St(who had the best developmental program ive ever seen) it's absolutely essential. At Bama and other bigtime programs, they are recruited ready to play. Any up and coming program needs a great strength program.
