He didn't have time for 3 more possessions with the way LSU was running the ball.

an onside kick recovery could make time. If Sumlin was 16 points down, then he should've went for 2, as even if he missed the first one, he could just go for 1 the next time and have 6+7 (13) + a field goal (16) to tie.

Making 2 out of 3 isn't guaranteed, and a field goal try is easier than 3 successful 2 point conversions. Even if he made the first one, he would be pressured to go for the next 2, and if he missed the last 2 there would be no chance at a comeback.

Something sounds familiar about that...I can't quite place it...where have I heard that before?

Tim Tebow, Vince Young, Case Keenum, the list goes on. Manziel doesn't even crack top 10.

Well at least the thread got one decent troll ...

I can't put my finger on it, but it does resonate a distant, fuzzy memory.

It sounds like what people were saying last year about JM and AnM. Given AnM's 8-4 record, ending the season on a two game losing streak, not showing improvement on either side of the ball (took steps backward actually), and investing in an unproven coach, I would say that last year's posters were more right than wrong.

Is there anything that AnM can point to as something to look forward to next year, other than unproven recruits and young players who might not pan out?
