I think he is the team's leading tackler? Does he mean that much to Ole Miss's defense or is he replaceable?

Replaceable. His backup has what.. only 4 fewer tackles?

Tony Connor is like 60% but will probably play. CJ is relatively healthy. Isaac gross is still out for the year. Fadol Brown has a small fracture in his foot and might not play. Offensively we are as complete as we've ever been except our starting center tore his acl a few weeks ago.

Gates is better for us against LSU. He's a bigger dude and doesn't lose much by way of speed or athleticism. Behind Gates, a serviceable guy in Caldwell will see snaps or a slow white guy will get the nod. It hurts us in depth but not too much overall.

If LSU can find a way to establish a run game early, they can win this one. They will have to get a pass rush and Steele has to find a way to close some of the holes in the secondary and not give up big plays due to busted coverage.

Does it really matter? Our defense will be on the field the whole game like it has been for the last two

I honestly don't think he can. Ole Miss by 10 b/c of Kelly and our suddenly awful DB's.

Yeah he must be good. He can't beat out a player that wouldn't start for any other SEC team.

You guys have to understand that playing Arky and Bama is different from playing the rest of the SEC. Bama and Arky's defense is built to stop what LSU wants to do, the other defenses in the conference aren't. They are built to stop the spread. LF can get off this game if RN isn't living in the backfield all night.

So the backup played a lot. What about the back up to the back up?

All I know is last year when he went out, LSU's rushing attack really did damage up the middle. Not sure if they are stronger up front this year, though.

Bingo. It is one reason why spread teams give Arkansas such a nightmare but we've been a pain for Alabama and LSU the last two years. LSU's best bet is to play like LSU and pound the ball to set up deep play action passes.

I would think it's a bigger deal then just missing a starter when his brother is the star player on the defense. Maybe it will make him meaner and play harder or maybe he will not be thinking about the game.
