People who say this have no business giving an opinion. Let's say you are building your NFL team, you know everything about these 3 guys that you know now. And let's say Bo never gets injured, give me your draft order of Walker, Campbell, Jackson...
frick you. Walker is the best college running back ever.
Want to play "what if"?
What if Marcus Dupree doesn't let his "advisor" get into head and ruin what he had going at Oklahoma. Probably the greatest to ever put on a uniform.

Wrong, Barry Sanders is the best RB ever. And thats why your opinion is shite in these discussions

Deuce McAllister? I'd put Anthony Dixon or Jerious Norwood on there if him.

Earl Campbell, AD, and Ricky Williams are taking 3 spots somewhere in the top 10.
I would throw Barry Sanders in there too since we are talking players from schools that were part of Big 8/ SWC/ and then the Big 12...That's 4 of the top 10 all time College RB's for sure...

I think we are just talking SEC schools plus Texas and Oklahoma. But dude above said "in all of college football." So that opens up other RB's like Barry, who had a thousand yards more than HW did their senior years plus a shite ton more TD's

Good lord man, do your research before talking smack…even if you wanted to include all the SWC RB’s I don’t know of a greatest college RB or player list where Barry, or any other SWC back including Campbell, Williams, Peterson, etc. is ahead of Walker. There’s a reason. Go look at the numbers and watch some of the film…
Regarding others stating Campbell running over people mentioned earlier in the thread. Go watch Herschel Walkers first game where he runs over a future all pro LB in Bill Bates. There are plenty of other clips of him running over people and throwing people to the ground. The difference was his speed, literally world class speed in a 235 LB body.

Oklahoma State wasn't in the SWC...and now someone who doesn't know that is trying to compare Herschal Walker to Barry Sanders lmao.
Barry had more TDs in one season than HW had in almost 3...out rushed HW's best season by a thousand yards..and still returned kicks and punts for another 5-600 yards with several more TD's.
Barry>Walker

LF7 ran behind 2 NFL guys (Will Clapp, Ethan Pocic) just like Henry did (Cam Robinson, Ryan Kelly).
And Fournette was statistically better. Higher yards per carry and yards per game, but Bama was the more complete team which allowed Henry to play 3 more games. Even then, he only got about 100 more yards from scrimmage.

Top 3 OU RBs all-time are from the state of TX...
California is probably the only state to produce RBs as good as the state of TX.

This list is shite. But emmitt at 9 is completely asinine

If you add up NFL HOFers, NFL MVPs, NFL All-Pro, Pro Bowls, Heismans & All-America - the state of TX RB room is in a class by itself.
E. Campbell
A.Peterson
T.Thomas
L.Tomlinson
E.Dickerson
B.Sims
J.Charles
P.Holmes
J.Washington
Hershel was a very good pro and we all know what happened to Bo. Neither one had as good of a pro career as the first 5 on this list..

I don't know about ranking him, but Earl Campbell was a human bulldozer with a Police Interceptor package.
He was something to see, like Bo and Herschel.
Those who are 45-50+ can verify.
