I thought I put Auburn. That wasnt intentional. I respect their program and history.
And I honestly just forgot UK because I had football on the mind. Add them to the list. So that's 10 elite athletic departments. Hard for Bama to control 9 entities

FIFY.
Once Wright was dead and the legislature was no longer run by burnt orange fairies, their power over us fell apart...it just took our leadership 5+ years to realize it.

Not when you have members of your Cult on the inside on the SEC office.

Ok, you're gonna have to cite that. This is pretty significant if true
It was in an ESPN special or something like that. I can't find a link yet. He was talking about the SMU scandal and the SWC in general.

Are you talking about A&M or Bama when you say "cult"?

Pony Excess has several moments alluding to their control but none that straight up go out and say it really from what I remember

The Red Elephant Cult.

Easy one here Texas were total assholes on every level. Bama is much more like a benevolent dictator, give them you kowtow (rival game) and they will leave you alone.

I'll put it like this...
if Auburn ever left the SEC I don't think there is any way in hell that Bama would be arrogant enough to demand they always get to play an SEC school at home on Thanksgiving weekend the way Texas has done after A&M left.

there is no comparison whatsoever which is why its funny to see everyone complain about bama. they arent even in the same league when it comes to fixing and running shite

On the committee (and later head) from 1973-1983.
You jokers (and Oklahoma) had been in the NCAA jailhouse several times before that, all the way back to the 1950's. Point one down in flames.

Now you're just talking out of your arse.
He was chair of the NCAA Administrative Review Panel after serving on the infractions committee.
And guess what?

I'm far from an Aggie fan, but I remember watching that game and being outraged at how much of a bull-shite call that was. I turned to my wife and said "the fix is in on this one."
At the time, I thought it was just a middle-finger from the Big 12 on the way out until this picture surfaced.

Isn't there a DMN article from the 80s where tu got caught cheating like crazy and nothing happened to them?
you may remember this as the time Texas was handed major probation
oh wait. No that isn't it. This is yet another time they got a slap on the wrist (1 yr probation, time served)
This was actually the 2nd time in 5 years that they had been found to be straight paying players. Same coaching staff even
