Bama is 30th in ypc despite getting off to a really bad start

I wouldn’t be surprised if LSU wins by 10, LSUs defense is better than Bama’s so is LSU’s ability to maintain long drives on offense. Alabama hasn’t shown it can run as well as LSU.

I think if Alabama can limit 22’s gashing runs, they should be ok. Typically after LSU has a nice pass play, Edwards-Helaire follows with a gashing run. If he can rip of 5-7 yards per carry then it’ll be a tough game for the Alabama defense.

I think stopping him is the most important aspect. He’s very hard to tackle

Funny Alabama gives up less yards per game and less points per game yet you claim LSU has a better defense. Bama also rushes for more yards per game and more yards per rush, yet you claim LSU has a better rushing attack. Only in LSU's world.

I bet you saw Clemson blowing out North Carolina too, LSU is ten times better than the weak arse ACC team that almost beat your Clemson pussy cats.

More funny math from a Bama fan. LSU opponents average less than a 100 yards rushing, Alabama’s opponents average over a 100 yards rushing per game. Bama must have played a more brutal schedule.

In the passing game, what Alabama and LSU both do best is very much the same. Both defenses play against that strength often in practice. If you cut off the RPO/slant game you open yourself up to the sluggo.

When the sloggo comes into play there are 3 issues to deal with. (1) O-line pass pro - can your team keep the other team off of the QB long enough to make the throw? (2) can CB/Nickle reroute quickly enough and have the speed to catch up to the WR and create a tight throwing window? (3) Can your team run well enough to keep the safeties from being able to hold over-the-top coverage when a sluggo pops?

Tua and Joe both have the ability to hit small windows which will be required. How does that hold up if DL/blitz pressure gets in their faces?

I think it will be a fun and exhausting game to watch. I just hope both teams come away from the game without injuries that would impact the rest of the season.

I think the ball will be snapped to the QB several times. I can safely say it will be the most commonly used method to move the ball.

I disagree. Players run with the ball an equal amount.

Have you watched Clemson this year? Trevor hasn’t exactly lived up to the hype.

Burrow has shined in every big game this year

All good points Tw1st3d. LSU also likes to use crossing patterns which can take longer to develop.

I haven't seen Tua's numbers when pressured so I can't say Joe is better but he has been lights out vs a blitz. If Bama has to send 5 or more he will shred them.

Tua meanwhile will likely take advantage of matchups against Vincent and out LB's.

Going to be really fun to see the gameplan play out. This is what SEC football is meant to be!

Not on missed/dropped passes and throw away passes.

Or on FG attempts.

LSU opponents have too easy a time throwing the ball to bother running.

How Brady has a lot of Sean Payton in him. Sean looks for a weakness and goes at it, over and over and over again. Look for LSU to go after Bamas middle with Justin Jefferson and Jamar Chase. I expect both to lineup in the slot. I suspect you’ll see them go after Surtain too. He’s struggled with PI’s and quicker receivers.

If I were Bama I’d go after Kary Vincent and do everything I could to match him up with Jeudy or Waddle in the slot.

Well, that's just in TrueTigerTale's brain. In reality, Alabama's defense is better.

Bama's dominant D

Nope, again it's just in that stupid brain of a stupid poster that lsu runs the ball better than Bama.

Bama's superior run attack

I’m concerned about the middle of our defense and LSU being able to run and sustain long drives. If I were then, I’d play more conservative that what I understand they’ve done this year, in part to keep our receivers off the field but also because I think it can be successful for them. More so this year that in years past.

This was noted in a thread earlier, but I think this year’s Alabama team would have more problems with a smash mouth, old school LSU team than our defenses from years past did. Not saying we won’t have problems with the current version.
