I was 8 and it was in the summer. I was probably too busy playing baseball or playing in the woods to care.
Now, I wish I was mature enough to appreciate the moment, because basketball isn't winning shite for the foreseeable future and Saban is still coaching.

I was so fed up with the entire John Calipari shtick that I didn't even turn the game on until late in the second half - about the time they were trying to choke it back to Kansas. Didn't get any enjoyment out of it at all.

1961... I was 11. Dad took me to the Bama vs NC State game in t-town. Roman Gabriel was the QB for NC State.
The NC fans chanted "throw Gabriel throw" but it didn't help them
