It finished off any faith in the NCAA (low bar) when they jobbed NCST out of a title.

Certainly what happened to NCState was wrong but had they played Vandy and beat Vandy then no they would have not beaten State in the finals.

It was our year. One of the big reasons why was experience. It is why we came back from a 1-0 deficit to beat Vandy. Plus in the third game we beat one of the best pitchers in the nation.

Plus there is no guarantee that they beat Leiter on that Saturday as he was the best pitcher in nation.

Yes they got jobbed but State still earned the championship.

College basketball needs a reboot. Sorry.

4th generation State grad (2013). Grew up going to baseball games at Dudy Noble every year with family. I was lucky enough to make it to Omaha with Dad & oldest brother. Just thinking about the trip gives me goosebumps. Watching us make the last out to finally get a national champion brought a wave of emotions that almost knocked me over into the visitors bullpen.

It still hasn’t totally soaked in and I still find myself staring at my championship merch in awe. On a side note, it has me inspired to start my own business. I thought it would be a great idea to have the front doors of my future establishment be a heavily weighted plaque of our CWS championship as door handles. That way any hogs or black bears/sharks that visit would know what it’s like to have a title in their hands. Hail State!

Tiger, As I explained before, I don’t like the Whistler. And I dare say the majority of Vandy fans don’t like him. He has a small group of monkeys that bend to the tune of the Organ Grinder. That’s all he has. So don’t use a broad brush to paint all Vandy fans in such a poor light.

Unfortunately, there is nothing to be done about the whistler since technically he (them) is/are not doing anything wrong. It is just aggravating as h*ll.

In fact, if he (them) would only do it occasionally, I don’t think it would be a big deal but the incessant over and over of it is what is so awful about it.

Certainly understand that most Vandy fans can’t stand him either. Hopefully one day he will realize that he is hurting Vandy. Many neutral fans who previously pulled for Vandy now cheer against them because of him (them).

Whistler did a great job of orchestrating the, “Let’s Go State” chants in Omaha. Sure he felt drunk with power with all the people participating.

It was really strange to watch one person control two fan bases at once.

It was interesting to see in person. People were locked in catch every whistle in the final series. Thankfully we didn’t give him much to whistle about after game 1.

i feel bad for the guy. his schtick is to piss all fans off except the ones clapping along and im sure there have been several mean things said to him over the years and that brave ole miss gal took a swing at him a couple years ago. he (they) probably loved every second of it...which is sad.
