You should learn the real story. He is everything you want your son(or in your case, significant other) to be.

A real man would have stopped the fight. Not beat a woman half to death.

He was defending his sister.

I think I could defend my sister without beating the shite out of someone half my size.

The state of Mississippi still lives in the 19th century. No rights for women or minorities. Really sad.

He got that fifth star from the recruiting services, obviously.

The 1 game suspension seemed pretty light at the time, but that wasn't his only punishment. He was found guilty of simple assault and malicious mischief and had to pay over $1200 in fines and restitution to the victim on those charges (his victim was also found guilty of disturbing the peace and was fined $225).

He had to undergo anger management counseling, and take other undisclosed steps to earn his way on to the team.

To an outsider without all the facts, the punishment still seems light. But it also seems to have worked out since he has been a model student and teammate for 2 years.

He’s a TPOS. He will have his coming eventually.

The reality is that he would have been taken at any SEC school you stupid frick.

Must suck to know that as an exemplary student, teammate, President’s Scholar and future 1st round draft pick, he is a much better person than you will ever be.

Actually he was not even a State student when it happened so effectively speaking the School really did not have to do anything in regard to it. He was a high school student when it occurred.

At the time I really did not have an opinion either way. I never watched the video because a video typically does not tell what precipitated the fight. So you never get the whole story.

Since he had never been in trouble before and has been an exemplary student while at State , then I think the Administration/Coaching staff handled it pretty well.
