It's thievery in the sense that watching a sporting event at a bar is thieving off of their media subscription(s). Take advantage of the technology you have at your disposal if you truly want the most bang for the least buck without resorting to actually illegal downloads

I "have" the media at my disposal right now.

I "have" the money. I just want it on my t.v. all at once and I will pay for it.

But I need a "package" to make it simple.

So does every other SEC fan.

No need to keep fighting for SEC games.

This should be easier to get.

The way you're describing your wants, the $25 Sling package would likely suit you. Sling is attempting to take it to the major cable/satellite providers by offering the closest thing to an a la carte channel/content option available without outsmarting the system

Shut up.

I know ~$15 bucks to watch all the sports channels, more than cable gives unless you go all out with channels you don't need, is just awful, innit? How dare I mention such a thing.

I want the bang for my buck.

Nothing wrong with that.

How do they have SEC Football?

Dish/Sling was the first provider to jump on the SEC Network, likely because the founder is an alum. After they did so other providers followed suit. But you don't wanna hear that right....

In all honesty, the best bang for your buck is Sling. I researched all the online providers before choosing them. Even though I like the fact that UT has a connection to Dish/Sling I'm always looking for the best deal. With sling you can buy a sports package without all the other BS channels and buy it cheaply 15-25 bucks for all the football you can stand and that includes other conference networks.

ETA: That said, if you're looking for more than just sports you might find that others are a better option. I didn't research in that direction.

They were free before.

Why not now on CBS, ABC and Fox?

IIRC, you get Fox Sports with Sling. But CBS et al are different. If you have high speed internet you may already have access to those channels for free (I do). If not you just need to buy a good antenna to get them for free.

Are you asking why ESPN was allowed to come into existence? Otherwise, you still would get the CBS and ABC games over the air if you have a television modern enough to have a digital antenna, and you can get an antenna to pick up local broadcast otherwise

Why Dish, Sling, HBO, ABC Sports, and CBS Olympics?

Quit nickel and diming me.

What's next? The Hockey Network?

Quit being idiots.

All they want is your money.

Last season I had a digital antenna for the network channels. Then I downloaded the Watch ESPN app on my Xbox and used the login of somebody with a cable subscribtion and you can watch anything live that comes on any of the ESPN networks.

Between those two options you can watch nearly any CFB game. I didn't miss a single football game that I wanted to see, and I was able to watch every single AU basketball game as well.

??? I'm honestly not sure how anyone can legitimately complain about spending $15-25. Cable companies force you to buy everything but online ones whether it's Sling or one of the others let you buy just sports packages and they do so for considerably less.

If you're looking for free... First Row Sports is the way to go but they have a ton of pop up shite and are only legal because of where their server is located.
