Wonder if they're going to go trough and put the 3rd ribbon board on the bottom

They recently announced there would be two new ribbon boards. So doesn't look like it.

quote:

Besides the extra seats, the new expansion also includes some new added bells and whistles.

"The south end zone addition brings much more to Tiger Stadium than just seats," LSU athletic director Joe Alleva said in the release. "As part of the expansion we have added two high-definition video boards, two additional LED ribbon boards and replaced the two LED ribbon boards that already existed in the stadium all in an effort to enhance the in-game experience for our fans.

"We are also in the process of installing a stadium-wide system that will allow our fans to have better cellular connectivity, which has become such a big part of the fan experience."

Not really. And it's commonplace.

I'm not arguing it, just mentioning that I find that silly for anyone to do. How many concession stands have you been to that you can see the field of play? That should be the deciding factor in being able to claim attendance.

Otherwise, you are probably watching on a concourse tv, and you might as well be at home.

It also includes media and game management. Do they not watch? So you want to count some ancillary groups but not others. That's what's silly. You just count them all and call it a day.

Was answered on previous page...

quote:

“We are listing a stadium capacity now rather than seating capacity, which is in line with what other schools in the SEC are doing,” LSU associate athletic director for tickets operations Brian Broussard said. “The stadium capacity takes into account ancillary groups, such as media, game management and concessions staff.”

Tiger Stadium will have around 1,261 for the number of "media, game management and concessions staff.”

Ok. I think you guys are the only school that counts SRO in your stadium capacity.

Tiger Stadium and Kyle Field are the two biggest stadiums in the SEC with significant amounts of Standing Room Only (SRO) space. I'm talking space created specifically for SRO. Mizzou, Arkansas, South Carolina, and Mississippi State all have a great deal of SRO as well.

Thus, the change from "seating capacity" to "stadium capacity" makes even more sense when seen in that light.

What media and game management can't see the field of play?

Concession workers aren't in that category for me. Never argued the people that can actually see the game. Just those that can't.

It's neither here not there. If we can't add seats, we will just make the concession stands larger to house more capacity.

I don't feel like we have much SRO to be honest. You can only view the came from one main concourse, the north endzone, in the past. Probably will be the same I the south endzone now.

Dallas cowboys stadium has to have the most SRO area in the world!

The top area of each of the corner towers is for SRO. The top area of Tiger Stadium's SEZ addition is where our SRO is.

Neither of our stadiums have as much SRO as the smaller, open-ended stadiums at Mizzou, Arkansas, South Carolina, and Mississippi State have. I know South Carolina has 5,000 SRO spaces, for example.

Tiger Stadium and Kyle Field (when finished) will both have around 1,500 SRO.

Aggies won't be selling SRO tickets. The listed capacity is how many fans can sit their butt in a seat. Unlike LSU which includes the corndog salespeople in their "capacity".

When I think of SRO. I think of the 35,000 students that STAND the entire game on the east side. Not one other University in America does this, except for Texas A&M University. And all 35,000 of them will pack the Stadium on Thanksgiving night against lsu. It's gonna be loud tigers.

Maybe not 35,000, but every school's student section stands the entire game...
