To all my fellow facility junkies can I make a request? I RA'ed this thread for a sticky and I would ask that yall do the same. With about 6 weeks until football season there will be lots of pics of the finishing work and I don't want to keep searching for this thread. Thanks and for your effort enjoy:
I know thats an old pic but I still like it. I went to high school with one of those girls and my house was one of the few houses that had AC and electricity after Gustav. I had 6 of those tiger girls staying at my house for overe 2 weeks. Hot girls were everywhere but there was never any hot water.
and I did not forget about you Aggies

Very nice UK. I was skeptical when I saw the renderings for yall's stadium renovation. I didn't think that the facade yall were putting up would look good, but so far it looks like yall will prove me wrong.
Please tell me yall aren't making the same mistake as LSU and putting up a metal sun shade.

Did you request a sticky (not the jizz jar kind)?

I didn't know that A&M started the Jenner movement.

Agreed. I had/have the same concern. I think a brick/concrete facade would stand the test of time much better. Contemporary designs aren't a good idea for stadium exteriors.

I don't think so.

Well, since it never rains in Tiger Stadium....

quote:
Tiger Stadium's field is a special blend of grass called "celebration" Bermuda and was installed prior to the 2010 season.
Ronnie Haliburton, Senior Associate Athletic Director for Facility Management, oversees all of LSU's athletic fields and facilities. He is joined by Director of Facilities and Grounds Todd Jeansonne, Assistant Directors of Facilities and Grounds Eric Fasbender and Terrance Bold and their crews. Haliburton played as a tight end for the LSU football team from 1986-89, and was a member of two Southeastern Conference championship teams. He later played for the Denver Broncos for three years.
After playing on countless fields himself, Haliburton takes pride in Tiger Stadium's playing surface in comparison to the rest of the country.
"They compare themselves to us," Haliburton said. "I don't have time to worry about what others are doing. I can only control and worry about what we do. This is Death Valley, the best stadium in college football."
Although it never rains in Tiger Stadium, the top surface of the field sits on about 10 inches of sand, which allows the playing surface to absorb the water and remain in the best possible shape.

The AirDrain Systems 100% vertical and horizontal drainage capabilities eliminates the need for traditional base drainage systems, such as herringbone trenching or flat pipe etc. only needing perimeter or exit drains.

Kyle Field is going to be the worlds largest putting green. Its good to be king.

UK has set up a nice renovation website with before and potential after pictures (they're interactive so I couldn't post them).

and this works out well.. it reminds us Mizzou fans of another "blueish" stadium with a "k" on it that we own.

So if I'm reading that right it uses a fabric filter layer to prevent the sand (grass root substrate) from washing down into the rubber geocell drainage layer, and this is designed for golf greens. I hope they've actually tested playing football on this..
