As an ‘Old’… 51 ain’t an old, you bastards… Arkansas was and IS the biggest rival Texas has. Not Oklahoma, not A&M…. Arkansas. There is no limit to the amount of hate the older alumni and fans in general of these two institutions hold for one another. It was an absolute travesty to lose this bastion of hate and it has left an empty space in many hearts. Texas and Arkansas played UP to each other, they were both better for the rivalry, in all sports. I do not hate Arkansas because they sucked… I hate Arkansas because they were GREAT. And in every matchup, there were butterflies in peoples stomachs on both sides, because the idea of losing was real.

I saw a "Beat Texas" billboard on 49 headed south at Johnson tonight. Haven't seen anything like that in a while.

Excited the rivalry is back.

Many Aggie fans on here are hoping for "pods" and that they don't play Texas every year. I'd be excited for a pod of Texas, OU, Arkansas and Mizzou. A&M would be more fun, but the majority of them seem to want to be in a different set up.

Any fan on either side that does not want the Texas vs Texas A&M game is a giant, voluptuous pussy.. it’s as simple as that. I want to beat their arse.. and it will certainly suck when they beat us.. but that is what a college football rivalry is all about.

Take out your tampons and lets fricking play!

I have decided that Sark is the right guy win or lose against Arkansas.. I saw something last week that I haven’t seen in a LONG time.

Texas outcoached the other team in all 3 phases of the game. It was little things. It wasn’t the outcome of the game. It was the preparation. It was the tackling angles.. There was a method to the madness in all phases of the game.

I was truly shocked.

It may take some time to get the right dudes on the field to win a championship.. but Sark is the right guy. I truly believe that. It was that different.

Agswin, Texas did not kill the SWC. Corruption, and ultimately the NCAA, killed the SWC. Texas has never killed a conference. But Texas did go out of their way to ‘kill’ two athletic programs. One out of righteousness, and one out of pure spite. Nebraska, for too long, ran their program in a way that ultimately was unfair to the other Universities in the Big 8. When Texas came in on the formation of the Big XII, that unfair advantage was removed to the quiet cheers of every Big 8 University not named Nebraska. Nebraska ultimately succumbed to the leveled recruiting field. They will never be what they were, and ultimately it’s probably for the best.

Texas went out of their way to absolutely screw The University of Houston. That is a FACT. As a Texas guy I can assure you I don’t like it. But Texas did it 100% out of spite. Deloss Dodds, the long time Texas AD, was absolutely responsible and it’s not something I will ever comprehend. The pure pettiness of that man, and not just a few big money boosters, is a shame to have in our past.

I am rewatching the 2014 Texas bowl right now. I’ll rewatch 2004 and the 2000 cotton bowl later. Maybe the shootout too. Good times. College football is better when we play each other. We fans deserve this. Finally!! Things are going to heat up between the ole SWC teams and the rest of the SEC will actually get to witness, understand, and respect the history and passions in our corner of college athletics a little better.

Wrong. Because a shitload of Ags look forward to playing Texas and OU on a regular basis. I certainly do and so does just about every Aggie I know.

As an Old SWC guy myself it’s fun to see old rivalries renewed. Looking forward to the game my battered longhorn syndrome has no idea what to expect in terms of outcome. I mean I thought Dallas was gonna get skull Fd to Tampa so I guess I don’t know shite about frick
