If you want the real answer, it is because LSU fans are still not sure whether Les Miles really has what it takes and is going to continue to be the right man for the job.
That is my take anyway, and I am not sure whether I think Miles is a really good coach or not. I do not think he is a bad coach and I really like him, but I am still on the fence as to whether he will keep LSU football as a top team nationally and in the SEC.
This is pretty much it. Its the same reasoning I used, but I went into a tangent on the Les Miles "Cult of Personality"

You can't argue with the results so far though. He brings in unreal talent every year.
I could undersand this recaction if they lost.

LSU has always been defensive about Miles. Now that he's not winning NCs and going to BCS bowls we begin to turn and embrace the underlying thought that maybe he was just a bumbling lucky idiot the whole time.
And so it begins...

I have never been on the Les Miles bandwagon FWIW.

The bottom line is that the offense did not run as smooth as it looked in the GT game at the end of last year, so many are thinking that we went backwards. Also, the defense gave up way too many points, so all the fans that were expecting a turnaround are still having to wait for that good news to come down the road.

we didn't fix anything that's been a thorn in our program's side since les has come on board
Posted on 9/7/09 at 5:13 pm to SlowFlowPro
i don't think he is that good and expect him lose 4-5 games this year...i hope i am wrong but i don't think he is the man to keep this program at the top...

Quintoris - that is Julio's real name. - Good question though.
These same people that are being negative are the ones the think if they donned the equipment they would do better on the field. They really have no idea about football...just think they do.
Washington had an entirely new system with a stud QB. It was a pretty hard to gameplan without knowing any tendencies of the Offense or Defense.
Great thing is we ran a pretty vanilla game plan and no one got hurt!

Happy with the win
Little disappointed with the tackling. Def looked like they were in the right places.
Not impressed with D-line but Josh Downs looked really good.
Who knows....maybe Washington wil win a few games this year? Locker and Polk looked good.
On offense....I was satisfied but I don't think we even saw 10% of our offense so far. I'm hoping (as well as the coaches IMO) that we don't have to show any offensive flash until SEC play starts....possibly not until the UGA game.
To all you haters.....relax. Defensive schemes can't be completely installed over night.

quote:Wow. The interior D-Line penetrated all night but the DE's lost contain when the RB's bounced outside. This can be corrected. I agree that our safetys have no business being 22 yards off the ball on 3rd and 14. That is horrid and better get fixed. I don't have a problem with the vanilla O. The season is a chess match, not a checkers game. We did enough on O and scored when we needed to. We respond to every one of their FG's with a TD. I will take that every time. And as far as the hot RB goes, Miles had Williams in for the game clinching drive in the 4th quarter when it was evident he had the hot hand.
Its about the fact that problems from the end of 07 are still cropping up.
DLine not playing up to their talent
No contain
Playing soft D
Playing vanilla O
Nothing has changed. People at a certain point expect to see a coach improving his team's weaknesses.
ETA Miles has never figured out the concept of a hot RB

Alabama= Delusionally self- important.
LSU= Delusionally masochistic.
Equally sick.

Because I want LSU to correct its short comings and be awesome? I believe that is the exact opposite of the sentiments of Tulane fans.

Is this a variant on the whole "We need to disguise our offense argument?"
Because that's an argument that has been thrown out for 3-4 years and these super exciting plays haven't materialized the past few year. I'm sure they will this year though.......

Utter crap. Williams was hot and then next series Richard Murphy was getting the carries. Da frick?
